But with the NL East, There's a lot of completey forgettable options in the Silver and Gold Rounds. The JD Davis and Marcel Ozuna's of the world that'll fill up your rounds. Combine that with the plethora of quality pitching options, and you'll often see Diamond rounds that have 3 starting pitchers and FoTF Ozzie Albies, or gold rounds that have Nola/Syndergaard/Lugo/Doolittle, when you really needed a LS Juan Soto or a FotF Juan Soto to beef up your lineup. It doesn't help that the NL East has the absolute hardest sub boss of all the divisions in Scherzer, who may actually be the best LS pitcher in the whole game. I think I'm going to move on to other divisions then come back to the East Later. I hear great things about the AL West, with some real players available
The NL East one is ironically the only one Ive been able to beat so far.

These are definitely challenging for me. I like the mode, even though it is frustrating the crap out of me.

I've tried the 1st Inning Showdown four times now, making it to the Final Showdown twice. The first time I made it there with 10 runs and a very good lineup, but could only scratched out 3 more runs. I just made it there again with only 1 run! Obviously, my lineup wasn't great but I scored 8 runs. I made Jansen throw 80 pitches, but I think I rolled into 5 DPs.

I need to take a break before trying again. Any tips on beating this one are appreciated. I pitch well enough, so I settle for a silver starter and one gold RP, with a 2nd decent bronze or silver RP. I struggle to hit, so I try to get the best hitters I can.

I assume the other Showdowns are more difficult than the 1st Inning one? Probably no point in trying those until I can get past the 1st Inning. Plus, I need those 70 program points!

When drafting loading up on offensive guys with power and not worrying about pitching has helped me. Most of the challenges are offensive based and if you lose one of the pitching challenges it doesn't hurt you too much in the end.

Until you hit the point of the draft where they pretty much force you to take pitchers even if you already have one. They really need to clean that **** up. Heres 3 pitchers and an all glove centerfielder for you, enjoy.

Yes, it would be nice if the players offered were needs based. I played through the last time with a 51 rated catcher because I was never offered a catcher after the original draft. I had several good outfielders on my bench, since I didn't have anywhere to put them. I probably should have gone ahead and played one of them out of position at catcher.

Better yet, if you could list your needs/wants, like they have in MtO now.

I got it on my 3rd attempt (where I "rolled" Marquez as the final boss instead of Jansen). If I had kept getting Jansen, I think I would've chucked a controller across the room.

I haven't had much luck with the other ones for TA....but I haven't really sat down and tried hard either.

I didn't realize it's not always Jansen! Now, I'm encouraged to try again!

Any tips on beating Kershaw on the way to the 1st Inning Boss? I bet I have 34 pop-ups on 40 total outs. I am getting to two strikes, being patient, but I just cannot get base hits off of him.

I beat the AL West showdown on my second attempt. I tried a week ago and didn’t even beat the first mini-boss. This time, I took the ‘two strike’ approach and gassed out the first mini-boss (Heaney) and he really became hittable after a while. Didn’t want to take a chance and lose so I skipped the second mini-boss (Ohtani) and went straight for Verlander with 8 runs in the bank. I tried the ‘two strike’ approach with him but he wasn’t very wild and was striking me out or popping me up after 3 or 4 pitches. Finally with around eight outs left I was able to hit him and beat him with four outs left. The perks I used were a bronze and silver ‘Contact boost for pitches down the middle’ and a gold ‘Contact boost when losing’.

My strategy is to play up until the 2nd boss then get to the end. A perfect run puts you at 9 runs. I'd say I normally get 7-8 runs. The AL West is the one I've had the most success at. I just hit Verlander well. I will have 4/5 complete with one more showdown. Correa is the one I'm going for now and I'm not going to bother with Seager.

It's super tough but I try to and make sure ball is middle/up in the zone before I go after it. Obviously if I get two strikes I'll expand. But that's my strategy and it works. You gotta be super disciplined though which is why most people fail. They'll chase balls just on the edge of the zone and give away AB's which will kill you in this mode.
I'm just getting into DD and only completed 1st inning SD. Do you mind expanding on the bolded section above? How do you go after specific players (Correa), and why aren't you attempting with Seager?

When you beat a Divisional Showdown, you get 5 vouchers that you can redeem in a Team Affinity exchange for a team in that division.

For example, last night I beat the NL East and exchanged the vouchers in the Braves Affinity because I wanted Albies. You can put those vouchers towards any of the teams. So I could have used that 5 towards the other NL East teams.

How many team affinity points is each voucher worth? So you get 5 and how many points do you get?

Vouchers are 4 points so you get 20 points for each completed Showdown. The FotF cards require 50 points.

You can also apply vouchers across the different teams. For example you could complete the Showdown and exchange a voucher for each team in the division to get 4 points for each.

Decided I would take a shot playing Showdown today and actually beat the 1st Inning one and the AL Central one.

Jansen and Greinke were my two final bosses. I was down 15-7 to Jansen and ended up winning with 6 outs left. He is very erratic and walked a lot of my guys. Patience really does pay off although his energy was still in the yellow after 50 pitchers which didn’t seem right. I was down 11-15 to Greinke and barely won with two outs left. Had him over 120 pitches but was still in yellow also. He was tough to square up and his curve is nasty.

Patience and Perks are how I was able to win. Both are life savers.

Only annoying thing about the AL Central one is that there was a lot of late inning pitching and for some reason it auto defaulted to Hunter Wood each time and I couldn’t swap pitchers until three batters. I had better RPs in my setup and closer spots so not sure why a Wood keep being the guy that was used. This cost me a couple games since he was trash.
