    Re: Showdown Thread

After beating the last couple I've done I decided to load up the AL West. Decent draft, nothing super special. Rendon, Gallo, Vogelbach, Seager, Haniger was a decent little start.

Got to the first mini-boss against Hendriks and failed. Two double-plays on Good/Squared in the middle of the PCI that were both groundballs right at the 2B. I power swung twice and got G/S that were lazy flyballs to center. Had two strikeouts where I took on 3-2 counts on pitches that barely clipped the corner as perfect dots, pitches I never seem to get called for me pitching. The usual web-gem plays that robbed me of getting anything going.

This was with Hendriks in yellow stamina and it's not like his confidence was maxed out.

Not mad or anything, but when this game plays poorly and inconsistent it just isn't fun at all and it sucks so much. It's not fun watching everything you do just get 1010101'd into outs and negative outcomes. I had a couple pop-ups that were terrible swings I deserved outs on. But the rest were just ridiculous.

I don't like being negative in these forums, because Lord knows there's plenty of that! But, I guess I'll have to give up on Showdown. I can hold my own online, but I can't get through any of the Showdowns, except Starter. I'm not a great player, but I ain't terrible. I'm not sure what it is. I was close on my first couple of tries at 1st Inning, but I'm getting worse. Couldn't get through the first boss on my last two tries!

I honestly feel like a few of the division Showdowns are easier than the 1st inning one. Oswalt is nasty and very tough to face. I beat the AL Central one again today to get TA Moncada. I’d say that one is the easiest.

But yes still super frustrating how skewed Showdown is. Each time I play it whether I win or lose there are far too many smh moments. These don’t happen in other modes.

For someone like me who can’t hit really at all it makes me not want to even try these

NL Central is broken. I hadn't tried that one until today and easily beat it twice. About to beat it again but need to sleep. Stupid sleep... I might just keep doing it until I max out every team there. I saw someone else mention it and boy. They weren't kidding. Hader as the final boss is dumb. He's out of gas so quick and then you can just light him up.

Hendricks was my kryptonite. I run through every other showdown fairly easily (like beating mini bosses in 1-2 outs easy). Hendricks shuts me down way too frequently. I just can't get solid contact off him. It's not like he is difficult to read. Now it's in my head and when I face him in RS I freak out more than facing any other pitcher. Last year I murdered Hendricks any time I faced him.

I’ve only done that one once and did beat it. If you can take pitches to wear down Hader that is the way to go for sure. After 50 pitches or so he’s toast.

Do pitchers fatigue in Showdown? I've had RP/CPs pitch over 80 pitches and I can't tell any difference.

Your PCI will be at max size after they gas. For Hader that is at 60 pitches.

Add a diamond perk for the 50% fatigue and it makes it easy peasy. (The gas can one) That's the best perk to have for the final round.

I've basically given up on them. I lost to the second boss in the first inning program last time (I wasn't even close).

If the majority of offline inning points come from Showdown every inning then I may hang up the game earlier this year. I can't run the US Conquest map multiple times per inning. Offline dailies are not really fun and if it is a pitching mission then it can take up a chunk of my playing time. The collections are too expensive and I hate the idea of buying my program points and being stuck with expensive players that I don't really want or need.

Too bad starters take at least 120 plus pitchers to wear down.

Doesn't that one only work when no one is on base? I typically go for the contact boost ones over exit velocity.

The diamond one is incorrect in how its written. The boost on the gold one is only when no one is on. The diamond one stays the entire time.

                              I have another perk question:

Can you double up? For example, I have both the Diamond and Gold Heart Attack Perk - Contact boost while losing. I've confirmed I can equip both of them. Will I get Super Duper contact boost? Or is the gold one useless because it is trumped by the diamond one?

Yes. The boosts stack even same category boosts.
