I normally just normal swing. I take pitches until I get something middle-middle or up in the zone. I will rarely power swing. If using directional, just hold up and to the pull side when swinging. I would use directional last year in moments that required a ton of HRs but I didn't feel like it helped get them done any easier for me.

Re: Who to choose for Evolution?
Directional and up influence, I never point to pull or push sides...just straight up with a power swing. In 2 years I have never had it take too long to get there, eventually RNG works. I don't even work the count most of the time, I just wait for a pitch belt high or above...or the obvious hangerComment

I'm sitting here trying to figure out "RNG"!Comment

Re: Who to choose for Evolution?
I took him third and he's actually the only one I still regularly use. Eckersley is good but I prefer Franco and Gagne. And I hit much better with Arenando than Matthews. For some reason I Cargo is just mashing the ball for me.Comment

Re: Who to choose for Evolution?
If the moments are on rookie or veteran, just hold the stick down a little bit and wait for a fastball low in the zone. The pci covers pretty much half the zone on the lower difficulties, you just want to make sure you get under the ball for homers.Comment

Re: Who to choose for Evolution?
+1 to that. I'm using zone for the first time this year and when I start to struggle I'm swinging at every thing trying to yank it out out of the park. So I'll just track a few pitches just moving my pci with the pitch and not swinging. Usually helps me get my mojo back.Texas Rangers/Saints/LSU/Tottenham Hotspur

Re: Who to choose for Evolution?
If you play online then you should enjoy Eck. Like I said before, for me he still hasn't allowed a run and hardly gets hit either. People struggle with him. I think part of it is nobody really uses him. I've only ran into one other person who has used Eck. I managed an unearned run against him, but I think I was able to make contact because I had used him so much I basically knew him inside and out. The guy has been my best player in DD altogether at this point which isn't bad for what was basically a free 93 card.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Who to choose for Evolution?
I almost never run into him online. I have him on my team, but rarely use him. I just don't like his pitch selection at all. Guess maybe I just need to get more creative with him. I'm closing in on 1 gold and debating on who to take as my next 99 card. I took Reggie the first time and honestly haven't done that great with him. My batting has gotten better lately so it may just be me.
Pretty sure I'll end up taking Minnie he can play LF and 3B and his vision is almost maxed out. That's huge for when you get to higher difficulties. I'll likely replace Rendon with with at 3rd and sell Rendon for someone else. (I highly doubt I will ever finish collections unless I magically pull a Trout card)Comment

I took Minoso and haven't played online yet but hit a HR with him his first AB. He's basically a RH Gwynn from last year so I think he'll stick a whileRead my OS articles: https://www.operationsports.com/author/corydell/Comment

Re: Who to choose for Evolution?
I usually like to take guys from lowers to highest, though I will make exceptions if a guy from one of my favorite teams (Dbacks, Braves, Orioles) is available. I only bypassed Mathews because I had Matt Chapman at 3B already and wanted to be able to use him a while longer.
CarGo is a decent slap hitter online but I can't generate any power with him against human opponents so far.Comment

Re: Who to choose for Evolution?
I think I'm seeing the frustration with the Pudge moments.
This card sucks. Balls dead center in the PCI have like no exit velocity and just don't wanna fall. I'm just now starting out these and I can already tell I'm gonna wanna kill myself during the longer ones.
Mathews was so easy too lmfao
yeah jesus christ. I'm not wasting my time on this at all. Mathews was fairly easy but his starter card wasn't completely atrocious.
Pudge with his sub 40 power can't generate exit velo to save his life. My good/okays are going to RF. That makes no sense. Dead center PCI is weak *** contact. I got 2 hits idk how many times in the second moment where you need 3 and then the ball is just dying off the bat. No thanks. I feel bad for even trying to give advice on these to anyone because this is abysmal.Last edited by papadell; 04-08-2020, 04:14 PM.Read my OS articles: https://www.operationsports.com/author/corydell/Comment
