DD Team Rating Mod

I’ve noticed the rating mod before, but never knew what it meant etc. I was growing frustrated the last few days with online Ranked Season games. Getting matched up with guys in the 600’s while I’m about 450 (to 510) etc.

Then I googled the rating mod and that seems to be the reason I’m getting matched up against higher players. My kid was like a +149 or something. Lol. I’ve played so much my team is loaded.

I then played two games after figuring this out with just Mets cards and my mod was only +30. Two games I played were against players at 440 and 450. Basically my same rating.

If this is the case I’ll enjoy online more knowing if i use my lower rated team I’ll get a better match up for my skill set.

If this is accurate then I had no idea either. I have slow played this season only playing a couple of games here and there. My team has an overall of 90 but I'm still only in the 500's with a 15-5 record. So I should be rolling much better teams against me if that's true.

I felt bad about the game I played last night. Some guy had a mostly gold team and asked for a friendly quit. I ended the game with 6-7 home runs. Props to him for not quitting.

Just loaded up my default squad of regular Mets, obviously includes Diamonds Alonso and deGrom.. Also my diamond CAP at third base and my overall team rating mod is 0.

My All Time Mets squad, all best Mets cards plus Legends etc. Also includes other Diamonds like Sheffield, Granderson, Foster, Snider (yes one year he played for them. LOL)! Mod rating +65

My best team that I can put together is a +131 for the line up I use, if I would use best ratings it would be around +165 or +170.

I think I’ll stick with my current Mets and dabble with the all time Mets for a while. Lol. Until I get better that is.

I did an all time Yanks and the team was ridiculous. Freaking Yankees. The Olerudecard is pretty good if you complete the collection. Not much power though.

I have all the Mets current and throwback cards. Olerud takes for me and Franco really good out of the pen.

Last year they released a patch that stopped Rating Mod from having an effect on Matchmaking. I didn't see anywhere whether they stated one way or another that it would be in effect this year.

When you enter matchmaking, you can keep the bar all the way to the left to try and matchup against people closest to your rating. The further the bar goes to the right, the wider the range of people it chooses from.

I'm not sure exactly how it's working this year, but that's how it was after they patched it. Most likely, the higher ranked teams will have better players but not necessarily reflect anyone's skill level.

This Rating Mod info is good to know. I usually use RS for affinity points anyway. So I'll almost always have an inferior team to my competition. I'm proud when I win or it's a close game. I guess this info will humble me a bit!

Its suppose to help you play another player on even terms skill wise. But if you have a team of all 99's and play a RS game you would get matched up against higher skill guys. Example you are a 400, you may end up playing a guy up in the 500 or even high 500's.

I guess this was removed two years ago, but I have noticed matching up better with guys if my mod is on the lower end.
