Anyone want to help another noob?

I’m new to DD. Like last week new. I work and coach baseball so when I get the game, RTTS is my mode just for time constraints. Well, since work is online and coaching got canceled, I played 5 seasons of rtts and got bored so I got into DD. I have no desire to play online. Is this a mode for me? I’m looking for any tips. Moments are hit-miss for me. Some are simple. Some are super frustrating. I was doing the starter conquest map, but it seems I only play 2 teams on varying difficulty levels. My questions are...do I buy packs (they are usually crap)? What’s the point of a rotation cause we both throw the ace each game? Where should I focus my time? I have a decent roster of golds, a few silver, and 3b ace pitcher closer as low diamonds. What should I be doing differently? My lineup is Stanton-Griffey-pence OF, Sheffield turner dozer abreu IF, biggio C, Reyes Wood Ryan Nen (I forget the closer the low leftie diamond) as pitchers.

If you aren't playing online then the build of your team doesn't matter. There's virtually no way to use your DD team outside of online. You can build the team for Conquest, but Conquest is most efficient when you're simming as many games as possible and only playing Strongholds. Then you can do Play vs CPU which is just playing random MLB teams on whatever difficulty you want. These ways you'll earn innings and any other stats you might need to grind for Affinity rewards.

But overall, if you don't plan on playing online, then I suggest staying far away from packs. You're basically giving them money to use players that you could just use in the regular Play Now section if you want to use them badly enough. Later on in the year there will probably be some kind of moments they'll let us use our DD teams for. But not nearly enough to justify spending extra money if you aren't playing online.

I'm staying away from online right now because of all the issues. If they don't get some stability there I won't be spending more and just do random stuff offline.

Unfortunately there just isn't much to do with your team outside of RS. It's just the way the game is built.

In terms of rotation, you can choose whatever starter you want and the CPU will throw the corresponding starter from their rotation. This is decided by the cards overall rating not where they are in your rotation.

Your other options in DD are Showdown, which doesn't use your DD team and requires 1000 stubs to play but it is an offline mode. There's also March to October which is basically a sped up season mode.
