Just to be clear, SDS didn't just single you out, LAH. For some reason, they're picking on me too. What did we do to deserve this? I try this Moment a couple times per day, then quit for a while before I get too wound up. We'll get it some day...won't we?

Hey Fiddy - I decided to try Analog for the first time, based on your suggestion. I just went to practice batting mode and I don't understand it. I set it on Pure Analog Flick. So all I do is flick the right analog stick up? All that matters is the timing of the swing? Does it matter if I flick a little left or right? I read you can press the buttons before the swing to get a contact, normal, power swing? With these wet noodle guys I was getting so frustrated at my PCI placement etc. Felt like i was my own worst enemy in these moments after a while so i just switched it up. Analog places the PCI for you and on Rookie/Veteran and even All Star all you have to do is swing at a good pitch.
Sometimes the PCI is no where near the ball, sometimes above, below, to one side. Is all that dependent strictly on swing timing? I looked for a analog guide, but couldn't find anything that answers these questions.Comment

Yeah Pure Analog is all about timing and yes beforehand you can choose by pressing square for power or circle for contact.
I’ve tried it as well but my PCI placement is often better than when the CPU does is for you.
Good luck to you as well brother!"When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

I think vision attribute plays into it as well. You'll get good timing swings where you completely miss. It definitely has more RNG by nature since you're only controlling the timing.Read my OS articles: https://www.operationsports.com/author/corydell/Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20: 3rd Inning Program Updated With Keith Hernandez
Yeah, it seems like there is more to it than just swing timing. I practiced with it for a while, then tried Keith again using Analog. I think it's like any other method, it takes some getting used to. I discovered the PCI does move left and right based on the direction you push the analog stick. Maybe I'm over-thinking it, but I have a hard time finding a thumb and hand position to consistently push the stick straight up or in the direction the pitch is going. Also, against a guy like Kyle Hendricks that throws that sinker down in the zone consistently, how do you get that elevated? I think I hit three straight ground balls directly back to him. With Zone, at least I can locate the PCI all the way down in the zone. Of course, if he throws it up in the zone, I'm screwed.Comment

That's why it really ends up being inconsistent because you're relying on the batter actually getting to those. You'll absolutely demolish anything middle and up with good timing. I mean you'll nuke everything. But bottom of the zone is hard to get squared up.Yeah, it seems like there is more to it than just swing timing. Haha, even as someone who does not really ever get tilted by the Moments, Keith did push my buttons a bit.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). Re: MLB The Show 20: 3rd Inning Program Updated With Keith Hernandez
I just started power swinging with him which really helped getting the ball in to the gap or pulling it down the line into the corner. If I used normal swing it went to left center or right at the left fielder everytime. I'd prefer to go that way but it was impossible to get the ball through the gap as the left fielder would cut it off more often than not.Texas Rangers/Saints/LSU/Tottenham Hotspur

I didn't do many of the moments, instead opting to get hits online with him and some other stuff, but when I got close to wrapping him up online I went into such an insane cold streak with him before just deciding to go the opposite way with everything, which finally got me there.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). MLB The Show 20: 3rd Inning Program Updated With Keith Hernandez
I tried Keith again twice last night. The first time, I had enough hits and came up one XBH short. The next time, came up one hit short. I realized doing the online stuff will be quicker. I loaded up a mostly Cardinal squad, with some extra 1B players, and went over to RS. I suck online, but after 1 game I have 6/10 Cardinal hits. I wish I’d done this a month ago!
EDIT: Yep, 2 RS games and 10 Cardinal hits. I don’t have to torture myself with that Moment anymore! What’s ironic is I played a guy with Keith in his lineup. He had 4 bloop hits, just over the infield! I misplayed one into a triple. That’s his only way to get an XBH. So, he still got me by contributing to my RS loss! Mustachioed Bastard!

Re: MLB The Show 20: 3rd Inning Program Updated With Keith Hernandez
I haven’t bothered with him yet as I will never use him, but my 9 year old finally beat all the moments. Said he had to go the the power swing as well to finally get the XBH requirements.
On another note, the only TA Stage 1 I still need is the hit two homers with Vlad. Any tips there, that one has been very frustrating for me and i want that 15k XPComment

Switch to directional and hold up and mindlessly wait for something middle up and power swing. Also pray.I haven’t bothered with him yet as I will never use him, but my 9 year old finally beat all the moments. Said he had to go the the power swing as well to finally get the XBH requirements.

This Moment has now ruined my relationship with Keith. As a long-time Cardinal fan, I loved Keith Hernandez. After this Moment, he's now dead to me.
