I like these things - but for 2k, I think pilfering domination mode is a far better value than ascension (though it IS a cool little aspect of 2k).

I'm speaking more from a DD-player's perspective, but domination is a pretty intense grind vs crafted teams that carries lineup restrictions, difficulty restrictions and so on. You just can't breeze through it in a couple of hours; it's definitely a slog - and the kind of slog that offline-only players have been begging for in DD.

I could say that Mini Seasons is a step towards that; but I'm not sure that it is. It relies solely on teams created by other users; resulting in many teams carrying more of a very samey "meta" vibe vs truly hand-curated content.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Domination with the tiered rewards for difficulties is what I hoped Mini Seasons would ultimately be.
