Can I see opposing pitcher before game?

This is my first time playing DD.

I'm playing the mini season of 3 inning games.

Is there any way to scout the opposing team BEFORE the game? At the very least, I'd like to know if I'm facing a lefty or righty so I can adjust my lineup.

Also, for you veterans of DD, is there any benefit to letting the AI generate best lineup?

I was hoping that would help me with the lefty/righty matchup but it gave me a heavy righty lineup against a RH pitcher��

Unfortunately you cannot adjust your lineup based on matchup. You can only set your static lineup and that will be what you use every game.

You can utilize platoons to have better matchups but can't do anything before the games.

In terms of the CPU generated lineups, that simply puts the highest rated cards in your lineup. It will not change anything based off opponent lineups.

How do you set your lineups for a platoon? I could only find one area to change the lineup but I didn't see anything about changing a lineup v righties or v lefties

Platooning means just using your bench for advantages.

Example that I'm using right now:

I have Charisma Johnny Bench as my starting catcher. I also carry Kensuke Kondoh on the bench who is a lefty hitter that hits righties better than Bench. If I feel there's a tough matchup with a tough righty, I just pinch hit Kondoh for Bench and let him take over catcher.

You only get one lineup in Diamond Dynasty.

Actually for mini seasons you can see what pitcher it's going to be against. In the 'play game/manage squad' screen just scroll down to view the teams your playing against lineup and pitchers. The pitchers might not be in order of overall, but order of overall is how you will face them. You start your P1 they will too, you start your P5 they will too.

Thank you for the information! I wasn't aware of that feature in the 'play game/manage squad' screen. It's good to know that for mini seasons, we can see the pitcher we'll be facing against each team. I'll definitely make use of this knowledge to strategize my lineup and pitcher choices accordingly. Appreciate the help!
