Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)

S3 notes just don't do it for me.

    4 wild cards 👎

Season starts at 95 and accelerated path blah blah is all fine and good but I just don't care to start over a 3rd time. I gotta God squad and a switch hitter squad that I'm happy with and would like to build on.

I didn't even touch alvarez program bc I knew I wouldn't wild card someone with bad fielding and speed at this point

They're advertising a 95 randy but I just p5d my 93 randy... Also makes me think if he's a 95 for team affinity then all the other cards will be cards we already have with 1-3 higher starting rating overall

I hope the events are all where we can use whatever cards we want with no restrictions because I'm gonna prob exclusively do those unless the event sucks.

I didn't even touch this ernie banks team affinity

I had tried to start a franchise but it just wasn't clicking for me really

Took me a while to get it. Restarted if my first two hitters didn’t get on base (or homer). My entire strategy was just to get three runs and get the game to extra innings.

Took Lou Brock bunt cheese (and like 10 more tries) before I finally got past it. HOF Chipper just barely hit an oppo, first-row HR with two outs and a man on to put me up by one.

All the other moments were pretty straightforward for me, but that one was brutal.

Naturally, in the final 3-inning moment, I put up 4 runs on Percival on AS without breaking a sweat.

Forum dead... I remember when I first started dd in 2020 and we were all locked down this thread had new comments every time I looked.

I broke down and did the Yordan alvarez program even tho I'll have him for like 10 days and likely never use him after that. I actually liked the moments. I am sooooooo tired of playing the cpu on rookie with a team built for stat missions just to complete so this was a good program of just moments and I enjoyed it.

I never really care to try extreme but this was good and mixing in "moments" where we have to use our DD team for 3 innings or to come back in the 9th was cool.

Id like for moments to be a decent challenge but not like hit for the cycle with elly on hall of fame challenge....or perfect game thru 9 innings with Matt cain challenge.

Saw Severino in a pack. Pulled 99 Hader, sold him for 115k at 3:05pm, bought Severino and updated my Mets theme team along with the Mets s2 theme team. Logged off! LOL

With school starting up, I haven’t had much time to play. I’m hoping to get some time this afternoon and a little bit after All In tomorrow. I’m going to try to get as much of the RS program done as possible, but with how behind I am, I doubt I’ll get to the WS pack. I have quite a bit of stubbs, so I’ll probably just end up buying both WS rewards.

well haven't played much at all but have all the regular programs done and don't think i will be playing much before Thursday so my season 2 only God squad goes like this

                  SS 99 Lindor
                  RF 99 Bernie W.
                  C 99 Josh Gibson
                  CF 99 Griffey
SS 99 Cal Ripken ( love his swing)
                  3B 99 Chipper
                  1B 99 Buck Leonard
                  LF 99 Judge
                  DH 99 Yordan

pitching staff is all over the place but i am keeping my hopes in good spirits for season 3

I played two ranked games to improve to 27-0 but barely squeaked by here in the 400s lol.

My 2nd game I had 22 good contacts to 2 and only won 3-2

First time playing ranked in prob a month

Used halladay and Johan Santana as my two Pitchers also for the first time

Where I’m at right now …

Season 3. The preview is Mookie, probably a rehashed Sox MVP card. Loved it last year, loved it earlier this year enough to wildcard it. Not loving the rinse and repeat with new card art.

Collections. I refuse to lock in my cards to win a sticker of an old guy. I appreciate they made it easier in season 2, but make the rewards worthwhile to get to 400.

Stubs. Sitting at 900K with nothing I want to buy minus Adley, and can’t stomach using half the stubs that took all year to amass for 1 card. How long until the million dollar buy-nows when supply outpaces demand for everyone else?

I’ll check in this weekend because I’m addicted to the grind, but I’m relieved that the addiction is wearing off. DD program design, and the lack of fresh, top-level HOFers is notably lacking for repeat / high-end players like ourselves.

I agree about the legends being stale BUT it's like we got cc and petite at the very end of season 1 where I didn't even really use neither and sounds like not many others did

They got Sosa last year and we haven't really gotten a good Sosa yet... Mcgwire looks to be in new team affinity but his swing is universally hated.

Santana 89 was pretty good but then thus new one is locked up in ranked and nobody wanted to play ranked at this point lol. I bought him for like 30k and used him once... He's cool.

They get legends but then don't release them in a strategic spot for us to really use them.

Like sabbathia in season 1,could've released him as a 95 like super early in the reward path where everyone got him and he's the best pitcher in the game for a while. Kind've flood us with these new guys. I've never even hit against cc or petite in events br or ranked.... And these are two pretty big gets in my opinion

This new TA series looks like it might be players out of position. If that’s the case, I’m not sure how much I’m going to play. I’m not sure who that is really catering to, but I know I have no interest in a center fielder Randy Johnson, pitcher Mike Trout, etc.

                            SP Buxton 👀

Yeah I don't know about this change

Can we just give everyone catcher pop time, outlier with sinker cutter, max speed, max reaction and max hitting lol

Its like they're trying too hard. I just want to use the cards from s1 and s2 that I've already got

Wish I could be a fly on the wall in these meetings where they decide this stuff

After seeing some of the cards coming out, I still don’t like the idea, but I don’t hate it as much. At least some make sense, like Harper at catcher, DeGrom at SS, Winn as a pitcher. I guess even the good hitting pitchers as DHs aren’t terrible.
