I got lucky and pulled Harper and immediately sold him. That gave me enough to get all of the gatekeepers on each NL Central team. Now I just need to save enough for all the lower tier cards on each team. Hopefully their prices will bottom out after tomorrows normal release.

Finally got on the board about [emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]] packs in. Pulled Seager and then Adley from a Ballin pack. Probably hold on to both because if I decide to do a collection it’ll be the AL

Honestly, no. After more thought I'm just like you and love constant event games even after I get the two cards.

Now you get to keep playing events and all the stats you earn go towards the multi player program. If you don't like the event lineups, then yeah dive into rank for a week or so.

Has anyone found a better way to display both pitcher/batter quirks and attributes on one screen like in '24? It was press right on the D-pad before the pitch.

However, in '25 you hit pause then tab over to stats->advance stats and back out again to resume play. A minor issue but still a head scratcher.

I used to complain about teammates in moments being too conservative on the base paths and prevent me from trying to extend hits. It seems like they might've addressed this, but now I have the opposite problem. I've lost a few XBH moments because of teammates with no business taking an extra base trying to score and getting thrown out.

The most egregious was Jacob Stallings and his single digit *** trying to go 1st to home on a double to ruin the Todd Helton TA moment.

I’ve found that I really play for the grind / card collecting, and it was exhausting last year to jump from events to BR so you get those ~3 free cards every cycle. This new format is freeing but I’m having PTSD by not feeling compelled to play every day. I’m already half way to 500XP just from the weekend and would love to pace myself better. Again, the changes allow for it but I’m almost at a loss given how different it feels.

It's been weird, I've felt freed up and yet I think they've put out so much early content that still feeling overwhelmed about how to tackle it all even if I don't need to bounce between as many modes anymore. Not a bad problem, but feel like I need to get over that hump or just not sweat when I get some of the goodies.

I basically did 100% of moments first then went str8 to conquest and built the teams with pipeline, breakout, and the three program players

From there I still had more conquest to play so I transitioned over to TA in conquest.

I've played like one diamond quest and I've done the breakout showdown twice then 2 of 3 events games.

I think the bang for your buck is getting all the xp, packs, and stubs that conquest provides. I've already got trout and Yordan... Plus I've unlocked schwarber, Franco, helton, and biggio from TA.

Now I'm shifting towards focusing on the bullpen TA guys while I'm doing the Tokyo series.

I've had alot of good pack luck so far too which prob keeps the grind more motivating

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 25 Edition)

I am trying hard this year to just play what I want, do what I want, and not get caught up in "the grind". I'm refusing to play on rookie to just accumulate stats to get a card I'll probably never use. That's resulted in a bit of a mess, a lot of undone things, with a little bit of targeting certain players.

But on the flip side it feels like building an actual team which I like. My top two bullpen guys are JoJo Romero and Porter Hodge. I could replace them with better players, but they've both done their job and have been lights out.

I'm struggling with consistency at the plate though. I've been playing a lot of diamond quest and lost my first stadium after getting no-hit to the White Sox in 7 innings. I went directly for the White Sox and dropped down to rookie and was no hit for 4 innings. I restarted and went directly for the White Sox and played them on legend and I put up 5 runs. I've never played above hall of fame before - so none of it makes any sense.

But I have to head out of town for a couple of days and got a little lucky with packs to close out the NL Central and get Ted Simmons. Now I'm not sure what's next - other than to stop selling everything now and maybe see what happens.

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 25 Edition)

I’ve finished up the USA conquest maps. I really like that they broke them up. Made it much less tedious and grinding. Excited that there are several new maps as well.

I’m going to start in on mini-seasons before getting back to conquest.

I was very interested in Diamond Quest and it was a big reason I finally caved and preordered, but I find myself having no real motivation to play it after completing the intro quest. I think ultimately 1) I don’t care much for roguelikes no matter how much I think this time it’ll be different and b) the challenges really just remind me of the bad early days of showdowns where you had to grind out too many annoying intermediate challenges to get down to business.

I don’t really know what I actually expected but my impression right now is that the mode offers too much grinding for mediocre rewards. It seems like another case of SDS assuming players have much higher appetite for failing/repeating challenges to get a reward that’s interchangeable with something they can get by just playing actual games of baseball, which has been a problem with every new addition to DD since at least moments. Remember the absolutely insane and punishing programs on 19 to get gold cards? I wouldn’t be surprised to see it dumbed down soon, or the odds of epic rewards greatly increased. But maybe I’m judging it prematurely?

Either way, I do just want to play how I want this year, so I’m also coaching myself out of FOMO for grinds I don’t want to do, as opposed to my ultimate preference of using conquest and maybe mini-seasons to get through programs.

My goal this year is to just go after the cards I want to play with and not worry about keeping up with every program. For me that means mainly chasing down the Cardinal cards.

I seems like every year I spend so much time playing with a random squad to finish the next mission or next program that I rarely play with the squad that I want to play with. 300 plus hours last year and I did not parallel 5 a single card.

So I have finished the Spring Breakout Program for JJ Weatherholt but am not going to worry to much about the Pipeline or Tokyo series programs. If I get them done are some point great. If I don't, great.

To that end I just got this card, leaving only McGwire left to earn from the XP path. I plan to use an all Cardinals team on my last remaining conquest (Cactus League).

I have about 100k stubs now and debating on whether to go for Witt or jram next. Who will likely give me the better value in ranked /events of the next few weeks

Witt prob best defense in the game but jram the better hitter.

Currently have lawlar at ss and don't really have a 3b... I've been using Yordan alvarez at 3rd bc I need the bat and have schwarber dh.. Lol

Not sure how to get both of those guys in the lineup otherwise

Is Ranked online just hard this year?

I'm a decent player been playing for years but I only have 1 home run in 13 games .

Other players are just getting bombs off of me.
