    Possible solution for wild pitches

The one thing about this game that really bugs me is all the wild pitches on classic pitching especially on the HOF setting. I was about ready to give up the game because I can't go back to meter pitching but I decided to edit the fielding ability and reaction sliders for all catchers.. Basically I maxed out the sliders and I got to tell you it worked.. I played two games on HOF mode and only threw 2 wild pitches which is a huge difference for me.. Usually I throw between 8 and 10.. I don't know if its the way HOF is set up but I only had problems with wild pitches on that mode.. I know its only two games so I'll keep playing to see if it continues to solve the problem for me.. If your having problems with wild pitches try it out and let me know if it works for you..

I would think that learning how to pitch would be a good solution too.
    It's only a video game.

I can pitch just fine. My only problem is with HOF mode, theres way too many wild pitches to be realistic.

        That's not a bad idea.

Some mild edits on the catcher ratings might help to ease the issue some.

I agree that the wild pitches are a tad too much in HOF. It won't take major tweaking of those ratings to help.

        Good call.

You sure you're not talking about passed balls with the edits? The wild pitches are a result of user pitches missing the strikezone by too wide a margin. The reaction and fielding ratings affect how many passed balls the catcher allows.

          That's what I've observed anyway.

I definitely try it out because both CPU and me throw too many wild pitches and passed balls that lead to runs that shouldn't have scored.

First the classic pitching thing, and now you're saying the game has wild pitch and passed ball issues.

I don't know people... I'm pretty clear that every time I throw a wild pitch, it's me and my pitcher -- and not poor game programming. I agree I've maybe seen a few too many passed balls, and yes: that's easily fixed with Catcher edits.

But I'm not sure I've even seen a CPU pitcher throw a wild pitch. CPU catcher allowing passed balls, yes. But CPU wild pitches? I don't believe so. Which leads me to think the wild pitch "issue" is simply user pitching error.

I've seen the CPU throw wild pitches on fastballs way too often, not that often of course, but it does happen too frequently. I'd agree that pass balls are a bigger problem. This really wasn't that big an issue to me but something that happens a bit too often. Also, the CPU hits too many batters. I'm pretty good at pitching and don't throw that many wild ones but I'd say a throw a little too many on pitches that aren't that wild. My catcher definitely commits too many passed balls though. I loving this game, just trying to get the CPU to play competitive ball and minimize all the other minor problems.

Re: Possible solution for wild pitches

I can't stop throwing wild pitches with my reliever in career mode, any advice on how to stop it? My control isn't awful (roughly half full bar) does it need to be much higher to get fast balls over the plate? I am playing on HoF with classic pitching, and even when I leave a fast ball aimed right over the plate I have trouble getting it over the plate, and have walked multiple batters in a row on four pitches while trying to throw fast balls right over the plate.

I filled the catchers' fielding ability and reaction ratings and it didn't help that much in lowing the amount of wild pitches. I also filled the blocking rating also, which should help a little more.
