I hear ya Pared. I agree it's tougher to completely take over and dominate a game like some number 1's do.

But, classic is the only method that gives that 'randomness' that we all love. The guys over on the 2k boards are posting like mad trying to make pitching tougher. One proposed a slider that could be called "pitch randomness" (or something like that.

Classic Pitching does exactly that. On meter it's too easy to turn a number 4 into an Ace simply by hitting all the lines on the meter. (Personally, I can't do that because my reflexes aren't what they used to be but many can which is why pitching becomes boring).

If your really deliberate with a number 1 you can still dominate a game. The key is to anticipate where the ball may end up id you miss your spot and completely pitch away from the guys who can kill you. But you know all that.

Okay, but just to be clear: I only said it made no difference to speed, is all. Nothing about control or movement. And again, I was asking if this was fixed in The Show 07.

I was agreeing with you. What exactly do you think I was implying?

I'd run some comparison tests, but since I didn't get the game last year, I'll just have to use your data set as the control. Here's what I got. The top number is pitches above the zone and the bottom below the zone. Thisd is because I found that the pitcher will throw harder if you go high as opposed to low:

C.C. Sabbathia on the rubber using a 4-seamer:
          tap:
          94 94 95 93 93 94 93 94 94 95
          93 92 93 91 92 92 91 91 91 92

          hold:
          96 96 96 96 96 96 96 96 95 96
          94 94 93 94 94 94 94 95 94 95

So as you can see, it makes a difference this year. It may only be a difference of 2-3 MPH, but there's a pretty big difference between 91 and 94.

I like classic as well. I also tried with the constant cursor and the variation in hitting spots is great. Without trying I walked 6 guys with Zach Duke! I felt like I was having to work when pitching and "earn" it. For the first time in a long time I really felt like I had to watch what i was doing and get my pen ready.
