Am I right in assuming you can't have the announcers call out your name in RTTS?

I was getting a little tired of being called "Number 11" in RTTS mode, so instead of using my fairly uncommon actual name for my player, I thought that if I picked a reasonably common one, I'd get mentioned by the broadcasters as something other than a numeral.
No luck with anything I've tried so far, however, even using combinations that I KNOW are in the game(like the first name "Jason" and the last name, say, "Jeter")...is it just impossible to get a RTTS player called by name?

I haven't tired using the EXACT SAME name of a real player (i.e. first and and last) to see if that works, but you'd think they would have had the announcers read off both first and last names individually at some point, so they could be used in various combinations for created players.
If not, this really needs to be in next year's version!

In The Show 06, you could create a player in Career mode using the name of one of the fake created players in the game - there were about 25 of them - and both Matt and the PA guy would announce their name. I always used 'Monty Mudd', and like I said there were a bunch of them. Maybe not what you're looking for, but a possible option.

That message where they asked people to mail in their names to include in the game stated that it was only going to happen on the PS3 version... which isn't out yet... so no it's not possible in any currently available version of the game. Funny though, that they did for completely ridiculous reasons add "Reggie Stocker". Could have used all the space from those fake names for our real ones, don't ya think?

"2) Unfortunately, due to size/space limitations, this feature is currently only planned for the PlayStation 3 version."

Yeah I figured there was no chance at it when my name isn't pronounced (I have a really generic name, the #1 most common first name and #4 most common last name).

'Jesus' is still popular as a first name? Wow, that I would not have guessed...

I have the same last name as a current major leaguer and it doesn't even say my last name. They could have at least put it in where the guys would say something like ". . . and *last name* is currently working on a 15-game hitting streak . . ." But nope, I'm just known as "number 31."
