Game not Loading (can't get past the load screen)

Out of the blue, my PS3 copy just sits and tries to load but never gets past the load screen. I've tried restarting the PS3, tried taking the disc out, etc. What the hell is going on?!?! Should I delete my options files or something?

That's pretty crazy...mine just started to do this too.

Well, same thing happened to me just now. My game is just sitting at the load screen. Tried it 3 or 4 times now. Also tried deleting the game data and letting it reinstall it, but that didn't work either. My other games load fine so I don't know what is going on. Glad I'm not the only one though, but it is weird that it just happened to all three of us at almost the same time.

If anyone calls Sony or hears of a solution, please post it here and I will do the same.

Maybe it has to do with trying to connect to Sportsconnect?
Did you guys try it with no internet connection?

Ok, don't ask me why, but there was a guy over at Gamefaqs having the same problem and someone posted that maybe it was his internet connection, so he disabled his internet connection and the game loaded fine.

I'm not going to disable mine as I like the online features of the game, but why on earth does loading cached data from your hard drive have anything to do with your internet connection?

I'm going to try to unplug the ethernet cord to see if that might be it.

EDIT: Damn I got beat by like 5 seconds lol.

And yes...it loaded after I unplugged it lol. I guess something's wrong with the online.

Well that's good news....in a way

I guess if the game keeps looking for the site...it just hangs.
You would think they would have it seperated somehow...but at least it's working.

Mine was doing this also. I discovered that my fingerprints were on the disc. I cleaned it with cloth and it started up. But that is wild!

disable the streaming PC thingy on the PS3, when not in use.

I simply had to update to version 1.81 of the PS3 update and it worked.

I had problems after the 1.82 update. It would hang up after pressing the start button. I disabled the internet connection and it worked fine! I played a few games with it off and turned it back on and it works fine now. The update must clear something out because after each update you here David Wright welcome you to the game like you are popping the disk in for the first time.

Yeah I thought I was the only one...I think it has to do with the game trying to reconnect to sportsconnect. It waits to connect and then it works..If you disable your internet connection it will load w/o any issues. Ive also had issues at times where my game would freeze for a lil while and then resume..Like I said before I think it has something to do with sportsconnect.

That's what it is.
That day when guys got the same problem all at once.....sportsconnect was having problems.
