    trouble with controlling cpu's rosters

I just started a FRANCHISE, and wanted to make adjustments to the other teams (free agents). It says to hit r2 to cycle through teams but when I hit it it doesn't switch teams. Seems like I can only control my team and my teams minor league system.

I have cpu controlled teams options set to off, and the "trades" option on. What am I doing wrong. Can I really not cut a player from another team?

I think CPU Roster Control has to be "on". Means it's "on" for you to control the other teams batting orders/lineups/etc.

Thanks I'll try that tomorrow. I thought I read just the opposite somewhere and that's why I put it to off. Hopefully my bad! Dowie

        That's what it is...

CPU ROSTER CONTROL ...ON means total control

        ..................................OFF means your team only....

That makes sense, but if it is on doesn't the game turn off injuries and some other very important feature?

That's not a very good trade off is it?

True, but theoretically, if you're up for controlling every team, you can manipulate the rosters to *reflect* injuries by sending a player down or something along those lines.

I love games that have this feature, where I can keep my rosters up-to-date. I've never bought the EA excuse for not putting it in their titles: "We don't want players cheating."

Well, I paid $59.99 for this game, I should think I could do whatever I wanted to. If I wanted to cheat, I can cheat.

Exactly. The more options, the better. If someone doesnt want to use them then they dont have to, but others might want to.

Depends on what you're looking for. I don't want to play the Cardinals to find out that Pujols has now been traded to the American League, or that Peavy and Young are no longer on the Padres, but also in the American League. That's fantasy baseball to me and not my bag.
I make transaction moves on a daily basis, just like the bigs. If a player gets injured I send him to the minors and bring up his replacement.

I thought we couldn't cut players or make trades amongst CPU teams in the SHOW?

If you put CPU ROSTER CONTROL to ON...you can move players for any team to either the free agent list or to any other club(1 for 1 swap in both cases).
You can set the lineups and pitching rotations....the CPU will rest players but not make any other moves.
