ive got a zany idea, we wouldnt be able to do it this year obviously but maybe next year (if sony would allow us community leaders) we could have a vote on who gets the cover.

what we would do is what we do over on dynasty manager at the end of the year. we have the dmies. a group of catagories we nomminate for and vote on to see who wins.

what we could do is for a week or so is take nominations for who should be on the cover. then take the top 3-5 nominations and then have a final vote for a week. whom ever gets the most votes at the end of the voting period would be on the cover...

what do you all think about that.. .again that is if sony would allow us to do it...

Split it between Pedroia and Lincecum, that way, pitchers/hitters are both represented and NL/AL are both represented.

Late to the party, are we? Lincecum is on the cover for MLB 2K9. You can pick Brandon Webb if you'd like, or one of the free agents who will end up in the NL (too soon to say) if you want a National League pitcher and American League hitter.

The fact that the community would pick someone with whom the company cannot negotiate or would just not be prudent. We don't know what the cover athlete will ask for compensation, nor do we know how much the studio is willing to spend. Leaving that to the community would be unrealistic.

I know the answer ... but also they want a recognizing player to baseball fans. If they see who the majority of the community wants to see on a cover ... marketing 101 would tell me to try and get that player on the cover.

Though seeing him in here ... they more than likely "monitor" our words.

CC Sabathia deserves the cover....he's been the most sought after free-agent and the best pitcher in baseball....they're probably just waiting for him to sign with his new team.... although still holding out hope for the brewers....haha
