You know ... you gave me a whole new perspective on it. And I 110% agree with you. Because he was hugely jonesin' on the Rockies last year, and you swore he would commit Hara Kiri after the Sox win.

But, you have to admit ... them having the Fox contract does have some of an impact. I am just surprised they haven't figured out how to make Yankees vs. Yankees on Fox Saturday Baseball yet.

lol...they'll find a way. Maybe they'll just cover the split squad games in spring and have the Yankees go head to head. Or they can just take whatever flavor of the month they are pining to make a story of and put them against the Yankees. Then we can all sit back and wait for Tim's head to explode...lol.

why does the show need new announcers? Matt Vasgersian is the best! He could call the game by himself...he seems so natural even as a videogame announcer, like nothing's scripted....keep vasgersian!

I think he said FOX likes the Yankees, not Buck. It's the truth, they love covering them. They love covering the Red Sox too. Fox Sports is about the big names or big stories. Though I admit, it's not new for major meida to follow the bigger interests. Fox just doesn't hide it in their coverage...lol.

The cover the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, and Red Sox because those are the teams that draws ratings. Not because they are fans of the team or they "like" covering the team. Yankees vs. Mets is going to draw a much larger audience than Royals vs. Cardinals.

I love the announcers personally, with one exception Rex Huddler is such a bone head, you ever listen to that guy in real life? that guy gets under my skin in real life and in the game. "C'mon Man Shake Yourself!" grrrr.....

Yeah this has actually gotten me to swear at the TV. Who the hell calls a game like this in real life. This is the MLB not the WWE. The comment that angers me the most is when he says "all the teams hits have been singles. They probably didn't eat their spinage this morning(does popeye laugh)" or when he says "And dude... WHY YOU SWINGING AT THE FIRST PITCH WHEN YOUR TEAM NEEDS BASERUNNERS!!! COMON SHEAK YOURSELF!!!" <<<

Actually, they cover the Yankees more than any team, because the Yankees have a contract with Fox Saturday baseball, as well as the Dodgers ... you only see the Mets or Red Sox, when one or the other is playing the Braves or Yankees.

And yes, my comment was more for Genie Zelasko, since she was one quoted as to knocking the Sox ... and then re-quoted, as taunting Sox fans with sarcasm live on air saying, "since Red Sox Nation thinks we hate them and love the Yankees" ... I almost spit out my water when I heard that, LOL.

Then again though ... nobody likes her or McCarver really, and Buck is too about controversy and politics.

The Yankees do not have a contract with FOX Saturday Baseball, what on earth are you talking about?! The Yankees own their own network, they lose money having ESPN and FOX pick up damn near all their weekend games against the Sox and Mets.

FOX chooses to carry all Yankee vs Red Sox and Yankees vs Mets games because they will draw the most viewers, end of story. The Yankees don't have some secret contract with FOX!

Yeah Fox has a contract with MLB for their Saturday afternoon games. I think every team has a certain number of times that they can be on Saturday afternoon and Sunday night baseball. From there Fox and ESPN choose which games they figure to draw more ratings. Therefore you see the Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs more often than other teams.

Its ridiculous! We in NY think that Mccarver and Buck are the most annoying announcers around! They always hate on the Yanks.. Oh.. and they love the Sox..

I have never seen a Yankees bias.. this past season, Yanks didnt even get many Saturday games.. do you know why?? Cuz the Yanks were out of the lead early.. Only BostonNewYork games were shown cuz of the rivalry.. we got much more phillies and mets games on Saturday..

lol...are we really debating terminology? I understand the marketing. I agree with you. I used the word "like." While you may take issue with my use of the word, I would think it's an apt description of the circumstances (of course they "like" the draw the big teams bring).

As for my comment about the story, I feel it holds. Joe Buck is constantly hammering home (whether fitting or not) the story leading into the game (like the Rays season, or the Rockies streak, or the Manny drama, Steroids, etc. Pick a lead story and Joe Buck will beat it to death). That was my only point. I was even joking about it. This thread is getting silly with all this "who Fox loves" stuff. I'm backing away now....slowly...lol

My bad ... I read the deal, it was a contract for the Fox Sports Net ... the local market Fox stations. I wasn't thinking "super secret deal" ... just remember when they announced it (the contract renewal) on TV, I heard Fox, and always seen them on Fox more than any other team.

Regardless, I for one am tired of seeing Red Sox, Yankees and Braves all the time on Fox, I can watch them locally like I do now ... there should have local black outs, and they dont have them ... show other teams instead of those two rambling fools all the time in those games.

I as a baseball fan would LOVE to see teams I cant watch unless I have a cable package for them.
