Re: MLB '09: The Show Preview with Screenshots (ESPN Videogames)
I can't believe in this 30 page thread there has been only one or 2 (brief mentions) and a total lack of buzz about the new LEGENDARY difficulty.
Throughout the summer, and early fall all I heard about the gameplay complaints revolved around the too easy hitting. I'm definitely hoping Legendary level will fix this, and this is the feature I am MOST excited about. If the ease of hitting stays the same as last year, all the progressive lighting, weather, more animations won't matter one bit.
It's good to know that they are aware that some of us are having problems with the ease of hitting. It's good to know that they are addressing this. This game would be the most ridiculous game to date if hitting became tougher. I am happy that they are addressing the difficulty this year. It's a big step in the franchise to me. I give the game a shot every year since 06 and I was beyond pleased with EVERYTHING about the game except for the hitting each year and it's disapointing to me because the game is absolutley BEAUTIFUL and does so many things GREAT but the ease of hitting is a gamekiller for me. I know this is a touchy subject with many here hence the italics. All we can do now is wait...Very happy to read about the new legend mode though.Comment

It's great to see the new Legendary level. It would be cool if classic or timed hitting was offered on this level.
I hope it's included.

Your not the only one Scooter
What some people don't understand is when some of us say that we want to be able to use "timed" batting on HOF & Legend difficulty... it does not mean that we want any less of a challenge from the A.I. or that we want getting hits and making solid contact to be easy, it just implies that we like a simple one button approach to batting
Timed hitting is mainly for people that can't adjust to the learning curve of zone hitting or simply don't want to have aim there hits and like the random results that it offersComment
