Gameplay:

Will there be smarter cut off throws? I always hated trying to throw to the cutoff man from deep right center to relay home and my cutoff guy ends up catching the ball around 2nd base after a weak throw and not even having a chance to get the ball in to home in time.

Other:

At Progressive Field in Cleveland, is Heretige Park incorporated now? It wasn't last year although if you paused the game, the PA announcer would talk about it. It is in Center Field in place of where the picnic area is currently on the game. I'd love to be able to see it like you could the Hall of Famers at Yankee Stadium.

That's not even right. It will always be called Jacob's Field.

Franchise Mode

* I'd like to know if injured players will be required(for serious injuries) to have to go through rehab assignments to get their ratings back to where it was before the injury.

* Will players have chronic injuries? In other words, Kerry Wood is prone to arm problems, will that be something thats implemented into the Show this year? Say, its attached to his player bio or something.

* Will guys that suffer injuries experience a season long/career long effect? A speedy runner blows out a knee or something and never regains his step, a pitcher with arm trouble, etc..

* Will there be suspensions for intentionally hitting a batter, charging the mound?( I doubt the MLB would approve of this, but I'll ask anyways)

I understand the chances that these things are in are slim and none, but I'd appreciate you guys checking.

I was wondering how much power the PS3 is using to run MLB 09 The Show ?

50% or more?


I just would like to know how much more you can do with this game graphics wise?

For 2010 how about us being able to import our franchises etc to the following years game. I hate having to start over every year if I want the newest version.

I didn't read the entire thread so I apologize if it's already listed, but I'm interested to see and hear about the new handling of hard hit line drives and how fielders handle them. If that's ratings based or slightly random chances of drops or knocking them down.

And one more thing, I saw someone mention this I believe in another thread, if not in 09 already get the National Anthems in there for 2010.

I'm probably most excited about checking out all the fielding. If I play someone we'll put the game on rookie just to make sure the ball is put in play so we can test out all the types of double plays, 6-4-3, 3-6-1, 1-6-3, 7-8-9 (well, maybe not that last one), but, from what I gather things are going to really be improved, but fear not, we'll put the ball in play and test the baby out.

I know you guys have talked about routes the fielders take, passed balls, fielders speeds, cut offs. We'll put it through its paces if we have to have a score of 56-50 to get a look at all of it.

1) Did SCEA add first names and nicknames for created and edited players?

2) If nicknames are added did they add them as a first name replacement?

Really the only thing I dislike about MLB The Show is the fielding! It just drives me insane sometimes.

Please let us also know if more balls can be hit over outfielders heads. Lots of people on here say they think the fielders play too deep and if Sony could bring them in a little maybe that would fix this issue.

Also please let us know if the outfielders can field the balls and come up throwing right away say to first base. In MLB 07 and 08 it is impossable to try and throw out a runner running to first base.


Almost forgot.

Also please see if steeling bases is any harder. And can we hit more Doubles and triples now?

i dont know if this has been asked or addressed on this board but gameplay is what makes or breaks a game. i was pleased to read that fielders will actually drop hot liners and stuff like that cause it seems that in every baseball game ever made, you could be ozzie smith or willie mays no matter who you are when it comes to fielding. also i hope the show fixes the rocket fast speed and reaction time of the outfielders. knights edits helped some and im sure that we all appreciate the efforts, but the actual game developers need to program it correctly out of the box. im sure i am not alone when i say that hitting doubles was a chore in 08. the only way to get a ball passed an outfielder was to hit a complete frozen rope placed perfectly in the gap. in real baseball, doubles (and triples) occur in many, many, many more variety of ways. i hope this gets fixed.

Good questions. I didn't even think to ask about the Braves blue jerseys because I just figured it would be natural for them to put them in the game. Those are my favorite Braves jerseys. Yes we also need a protential rating.

Yes that is a huge problem. I hate when you hit a ball in the gap and the fielders ALWAYS run it down from out of no where. It's like they program it for the ball to stay in the air just long enough for the defender to get there and field it every time.

also, collision detection would be nice. and maybe some realistic tag animations. nothing like seeing your glove go right through someones leg or body. these are minor issues though.
