I hope someone has an answer about salaries if they can be edited, also if they put the red bill on the Indians home batting helmet. I'm sure things can be tweaked before the final build.

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
from what i read on pastapadre's report they cannot do anything about the uniforms..they are oblied to make them exactly how the mlb style guide says..and seems there are quite some mistakes on that guide , unfortnatly.
heres what pasta said:
"All uniform details are taken directly out of the MLB provided style guide and following it exactly is a requirement. So if any combos or specifics are off that is out of the hands of SCEA."---------------

Keep in mind, too, that the average baseball fan will probably be able to tell that Kevin Youkilis has a unique stance, but they won't be able to do a dissertation on all of its nuances. Therefore, BSG doing the stances with infrequent and slight exaggerations is better than, say, you in a mo-cap suit trying to do them normally and having them come out bland and generic.
I know that I love just checking out how the players and their stances look, and I've rented games just to do that. I will reserve judgment until I see the final version.Comment

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
I know this isn't a place to ask questions, but I was just wondering if you guys felt like the strike zone was smaller... like that it's in its proper place based on how MLB umpires tend to call it. I'm a stickler for this, and if there's any more incentive toward other people wanting it, this would help boast more walks.
I'm disappointed with the BSG (he doesn't deserve this name), seeing that the clown chose not to wise up his act.
And guys... hit me up while you're down here in San Diego! This Friday night of mine will be eh-lonely!
I read your comments all the time and you have very good insight and are very knowledgable about the sports and games you talk about. Not sure how a "few" exaggerations to "some" stances automatically makes the guy a "clown". The comments I read didn't seem like he made a mockery of stances, unless I'm completely missing something.Comment

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
I just wonder if you can turn it off completely because I don't want to use 6 starters or have to sub a guy out due to injury risk. If I want a guy to play 160 games, then I should be able to. I don't mind fatigue, but it's way overdone in past versions. I would like to play with my everyday lineup much more often."There are only two seasons—winter and baseball." - Bill VeeckComment

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
EDIT: I realized that all of this isn't worth the expense of taking this thread off track. If I choose to continue, it will only be in a blog and not in threads. I just wanted to get it out of my system that I think the guy made a wrong choice for himself to add any subtleties of humor (maybe that's the wrong word of choice) to his professional motion-capturing job that he was hired to do.Last edited by Blzer; 01-30-2009, 03:08 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
What exactly do you need to use the chant creator? Sorry if this has been answered but it sounds cool and I never thought I would bother with it.
If you guys could also find out if the baserunning choices have improved (ie a middle ground instead of 100% manual or 100% cpu). Thanks.Last edited by rudyjuly2; 01-30-2009, 03:03 PM.Comment

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
To be fair, I would ensure that I captured any stance that I have knowledge of with 100% perfection. No exaggerations, no modesty. But this isn't the point, and this is the guy that was hired; in that regard, I would have hoped that he just took this a little more seriously. I'm not saying that they aren't a great representation of the players, but if say Stan Ross was in this game and he captured it with a slight comical twist to it, I don't want to see his backside shimmying at me with glee.
I assure you that I am over-exaggerating this, and when I finally play the game I doubt that I'll even remember about the silliness in any of the stances (unless I'm just out to get the guy, then I may have a biased outlook overall). I think I should simply settle for being glad that they're making an effort for signature stances this year, and I suppose that is all that I can ask for. In fact, as I said earlier, no blame goes to SCEA. If this guy knows stances and he can replicate them, they picked the right guy. It was up to him to decide how goofy he wanted to be, I suppose. I understand that it's only a handful of players, but I know that I wouldn't want a guy "mocking" me in a MLB-represented video game, as opposed to "mimicing" me.
In the end, I still see this as a first-week purchase (can't be the first day for me because of my school work), so my comments as of now should only be seen as wish list suggestions for next year's game instead of bashing. I mean hey, if they said signature stances look much better, that's really the only good news that I need to hear. Since I would play a chise with the Giants anyway, I shouldn't even bother to worry about Youkilis.
Actually, I should probably just write on the guy's blog, assuming he'll be hired for next year.Comment

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
I agree about the fatigue aspect. Lots of guys play 155-162 games a year, with only a day off every now and then throughout the season. Star players especially, unless they are on the DL for a period or extended period of time.Comment

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
Thank you! Is there any way to cut and paste that, so you can come back every hour and let them know again. I love what I am hearing. it does suck that pitcher can't bee seen warming up. Oh well, sounds like it is leaps and bounds better than last year and that is all that matters to me. Great info guys have fun.Comment
