Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
What gives?
Wondering if you read some of my explanations regarding coding/programming earlier in the thread? For example, the gentleman doing the lighting was sitting in front of, I think it was SIX monitors and had two or three PS3 controllers he worked with. With our jaws on the floor we watched as he explained how the color of one object had to reflect and then had to flow into a different color of another object, for example, from the green grass of the field, up the color of the wall, to the sunlight hitting the fan. I believe he said each fan had its own idividual coding. I can't even explain it right, lol, but that's what gives. Not trying to be smart, but it's so much more detailed. It's not a simple matter of cutting out a likeness of something, let's say a scoreboard advertisement and paste it into the stadium.

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
I hit a no doubter dead pull with him and the replay in broadcast cam was incredible.
I hit bombs with Matsui (dead center), Teix(one pull, one opposite), Arod(all pull), Swisher (all pull), Nady(pull)
As far as anything else:
-I think I told you Girardi looks very good. He is pretty animated in the dugout, lol. Sometimes he is wearing a Yankee jacket.
-Are you familiar with that glove tap, back slap that Jeter, Arod and Cano do?
-They did a great job on the stadium for the lack of info they were given.
I pitched with CC, Burnett, Wang. I liked pitching with Burnett the best, just really like his feel.Comment

ericjwn and Carew are the two community leaders that care about stances and motions, and neither of them attended this preview event. Russell said he has something planned for ericjwn coming up this week in regards to stances and motions. We may finally get answers then.Comment

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
Well, that's not true. We care about them. I looked at some of the guys and I thought they looked good, but, you have to admit you guys will debate the stances, one guy will say a stance is good, and another will say, no his elbows are too high. I think Pared said not to panic. I can look at a pitching motion and say, "yep, that's Peavy", but someone else is going to chime in and say, no his glove isn't quite that high. And it could be just a matter of inches. It's not that we don't care about them.Comment

Re: Community Preview Answer Discussion Thread.
Yeah, but he should have been handcuffed at the end of the game and a leg monitor put on. (JUST KIDDING). Yeah, he hit some moonshots, that's for sure. I really didn't check to see if his stance was there.Comment

Re: stances/deliveries @ Rob_NYY
you know what? Let's wait for the release of the game. Trust me, it WILL be a MAJOR pain in the *** if I have to do yet again, some wholesale player editing for stances and deliveries.
MAYBE it won't have to be done for as many players. IF it still has to be done:
a) let's hope there are still over 100 alternative stances and deliveries we can use
b) hey, I'll go to me ever growing list of stance/delivery notes. And if need be, I'll use for '09 what I'm using for '08
None of the guys that went to this event really care about stances and motions.

My brother on the other hand has been a high level programmer for US Steel Company for the past 20 years or so and he said that he knows a few people who have done some game programming. According to my bro, making a game such as this is an amazing feat and requires an insane amount of code to accomplish even the smallest of things.
From me and my bro, kudos to the guys from SCEA!!!!XBL Gamertag: hoos4974

My problem comes from stances like A-Rod, where everything about the stance is 100% off in every way. Jeter, Derek Lee, Sabathia, Pettitte, Halladay, Soriano, Rowand, Papelbon, Varitek, Damon, Santana, Joba, David Wright, and these are just off the top of my head. There are so many in '08 and prior games that were just laughably bad.
As long as they are close I'm happy. The problem is they haven't been close in this series. I'm still holding out hope for this year.Comment
