Man, I just played the demo on Legend and all I can say is wow. I lost 3-2 in 7 innings, but the game play was outstanding. I had to be carfeul with every pitch I threw with Cole. They scored on a solo shot and a 2 run blast in the top of the 7th. I had bases loaded in the first with no outs.......and couldn't get a damn run across. I did hit a solo with Werth and in the bottom of the 7th I had men on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs and popped up to end the game.

I don't know if I will go this route this year, but damn that was a fun and challenging game on Legend. Another thing that stood out, when I felt like I hit the ball the well, it was a sharp, crisp hit...when I missed or my timing was thrown off, it felt like it....nothing cheap.

I took the strikezone, hotspots, and guess pitch crap off as I hate that crap in a game....and I never use power swing, just doesn't feel natural to me swinging 2 different ways. I have a feeling that if I tried to do a season on Legend mode I would not make the playoffs or even break the .500 mark.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

A few more things that impressed me last night with my first go at the game.

        1. On deck hitter telling the baserunner to get down.

        2. Walks!!!! Where have you been the last 2 years of my life?

        3. Base coaches look like their real life counterpart.

        4. If a hitter moves his foot while in the batters box dirt comes up from under his cleat.

        5. Even on Veteran the game challanged me. This may have to do with coming from the 2k series as im not used to the game yet.

        Quick question for you guys

How are the online leagues compared to the 2k series?

Always is. Braves and Marlins will be better also.

This is kind of minor but it was in the game last year. When guys move there is way to much dust that gets kicked up. Looks like a small dust storm while guys are walking around

If you get a group of guys who want to play the game like it should be played it's good.

If you play random be prepared for a bunch of guys who do not like to lose at ANY cost, i.e., ten stolen base attempts a game, will run from 2nd to home on an out to first to try to catch you napping, quick pitching, etc. Complete waste of time.

As far as lag. Ugh, hit or miss. You can play an almost lag free game and next play one that looks like it's freeze framed every....well, frame.

Watch for the on-line sign ups here as we don't put up with nonsense. This year it was HOF, Classic Pitching, all aids off, NEW baserunning. Lots of fun (if you didn't get lag).

Hit an inside the park HR with Crawford today.. Werth crashed into the wall as he jumped to catch it.. beat the relay by a step.. love the demo except I never want to see the Phillies or Rays again.. Wanted to pitch with a righty.. I hit 8 in a row with Cole, and switched the Phillies to CPU.. They put in Durbin and Chan Ho, and was all screwed up trying to pitch with righties..

Well after playing on Legend since the demo dropped I decided to give HOF a try. I lowered P Accuracy and Contact for both CPU and Human.
Kazmir had a no no into the 8th but the score was tied at 0-0.
Crawford led off with a double to right center
Then I got caught totally off guard when during the next batter Crawford took off for 3rd.
The Throw......Safe with the catchers throw going into left field and now I'm down 1-0.

I eventually got out of the inning with no more runs.
However I still failed to get a hit in the ninth with the closest being a line out to CF. Yeah I still need some plate work.

Well i finally was able to win the 4 inning mini-game on legend level 6-2 using the Rays. I was 0-15, so i guess i got a read on Hamels now(lol). I am really liking legend mode cant wait to get it started for real in a couple of weeks. Is there a way to turn off the indicator under the player?

                          Thanks for your input

The reason I ask is I come from helping run a 2k7 league(won't get into 2k8) that ran 6 seasons long. We had a great group of guys and I have never had as much fun playing a sports game. Also did the whole High Heat baseball league thing on the PC way back when. Hopefully I can link up with some vets of The Show even though im the rookie around here.

Just played a 6 inning game, what a gem. Both pitchers dominated (on HOF), I was the Rays and Hamels seemed unhittable early on. As the game progressed he started throwing more pitches out of the zone and I started to hit him around a little although I could not score. In a game tied 0-0 in the bottom of the 6th I gave up a walk off HR to Jimmy Rollins and saw the most beautiful camera view as he pimped his HR job
