Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Quick question..I have played 4 games on default all-star, no hitting aids. I have been the Phillies each time and have split the 4 games. Ryan Howard has hit a home run in each game, pulled down the line inside the foul pole. Have you guys seen the stars dominate like this? By the way, I'm just an average player.Comment

They changed up from game to game when we played. That is how you get the diversity in the strike zone calling.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
When we were in SD playing, I thought there was a good sense of who was fast and who was not. For example, I hit a ball down the line with Posada and the developer watching was commenting that is was going to be a double but Posada was just rounding first and I had to hold up because he would have been gunned down. Any other runner and it was a no doubt double.
I would wait and see before doing anything.
I haven't had any problems but everytime he gets up he reminds me of the Tigers trading him away. I'm not a big fan of that trade for Edwin Jackson. We need more young outfielders and left handed bats. Joyce was both.Comment

for all you cats that went to San Diego how would you say the version you played compared to the demo? Thanx in advance yoComment

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
The version we played was more finely tuned as far as details and AI performance. Some of the things guys are concerned about do not show up in the full version. Legend mode for example was waaaaaay more difficult in the version we played than in the demo.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
arrrggghhh...I just lost on Legend by giving up back to back jacks to Utley and Howard. I was pacing the Phils with Kazmir but hung a changeup to Utley and then I had Howard down 0-2 and tried to throw Kazmir's filthy slider by having it start on the outer part of the plate and breakoff, but it spun and Howard belted it.
Pitching so well only to make two costly mistakes, damn I love baseball and this game is baseball.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I don't care, bring it on. If the Lions can go 0-16 in the NFL, my Cardinals can go 0-162.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
BTW, I LOVE the hitting this year. I struck out with Bartlett because the pitch was up in the zone and I only pressed X, swung right underneath it. My timing was perfect(according to swing analysis) but missed the ball.
Also, am I the only one that feels as though moving the L stick controls the batters hands? For instance, take Longoria. I had a pitch on the inner part of the plate and I moved the L stick in quite a way(left) and hit the ball off the end of the bat and it spun awkwardly down the first base line and rolled foul. Next time I got a pitch in the area, I pressed the L stick towards the right a bit and I roped a screamer down the left field line that one hopped the wall.
The hitting is absolutely beautiful this year.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Guru,
I see you deleted your post about a concern with the outfielders reaction time. I know when we played in SD, I kept on replaying player routes and jumps and It was nothing that would raise a red flag where it looked like it was intentionally done. If you are finding it a major concern in the demo, try adjusting reaction time, not speed.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Ok, if there is one thing that I think may need to be tweaked is the base runner speed.
Am I the only one that feels like the runners get down the first base line too quickly, maybe a step or two too fast? I was playing the Phils and Victorino hits a solid shot to Longoria who grabs it, throws and still only gets Victorino by a step or two?
Anyone else feel the same and community guys, do you notice this in the demo or did you notice it in the later build you played?
Maybe its just me..Comment

very impressed with the graphics of the game this year. So sharp it is the best I have ever seen for a baseball game. Good to get back to another version of the show.Comment

Nem would you say that the OF's reaction time and depth is different in the demo vs the build you played? In my opinion, the demo is an improvement in this area over last year, but seeing your post above, just led me to the question.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Up 4-2 on Legend...me playing as the Rays.
I got the bottom of the Philly order up and I'm thinking that I got this "game"(shortened as it may be).
Feliz singles.
I quickly get Ruiz and Hamels...
2 outs and up steps Rollins.
I'm being careful and he strokes a single to RF....Feliz goes for third and I ALMOST threw there...but I decide to play it safe and not let Rollins get to 2nd, right?
1st and third....Rollins is going to go...I keep throwing over there. Nada...can't get him....so I decide to be cute and snap throw to 1st(he's dancin' off every pitch!)........AND.......I FRIGGIN' THROW THE BALL INTO RF!!!!!!...
Not only does Feliz trot home...but the ball gets into the corner and I misplay it...ROLLINS SCORES FROM 1ST!
I might need a new monitor.
Does anyone know where I can repair this?..
..
Oh yeah...I eventually lost in 6
