I still think an umpire/official/ref are at their best when you don't know who they are. The ones that you hear the names of all the time are the bad ones.

I can deal without Tim "key hole" McClellan and Bob "balk a day" Davidson.

As long as they have 4 different styles and the show rotates them each game I'll be happy
No real need for real ones in any sports game but I wouldnt cry if they did it .

Like Porter "The Old Irishman" Callahan and Woody Keller?

              sounds fun.
Actually, that would be a pretty sweet option. You could be an "umpire" through a career. Start out umping minor league games, then as you get better, you progress higher and higher until you're a major league ump. You would travel with a group of umpires and get rated based upon how well you call balls and strikes and outs. I would actually enjoy that as an option in the game. Maybe in MLB '14: The Show.

That would be awesome. I would play that. Get to pick your own 3rd strike call. I think it's Tim McClellan but I love that umpire that before he even stands up just throws his right arm in the air.

Also get to pick how short or long your temper is. Some of those guys have a pretty quick hook and other guys will just take it.

As someone who umpires baseball in real life, I think this would be awesome.
