Re: have they fixed the "too many hits?"
i have played the demo dozens of times. I have had a few games where i had a bunch of hits...but mostly it is about 3-5 hits per 4 inning demo.Comment

Re: have they fixed the "too many hits?"
I think they have the hitting down. Now every year they can tweak it with certain things. I'm very impressed how far the hitting engine has come in just 1 year. I still see the CPU occasionally hit an inside pitch the other way for a HR but it is very infrequent and I have yet to do it yet and that's all that matters. Plus I can always dumb down the CPU's hitting sliders. Can't wait until March as well to play the retail version and full 9 inning game with any team.Comment

Wow Dave I can't tell you how happy I am for you. You have been so vocal about this for so long. And every year it was the same problem. And now you might have what you have been looking for. This is great news. I am like I said I'm VERY Happy for you bro.Comment

Re: have they fixed the "too many hits?"
Actually, I am too.
....and they've fine tuned it even more for you guys...which is even better news.
To me the best part of the new pitching/batting mechanisms is the fact that the CPU is smarter in pitch selection.
Brian discussing how the CPU "thinks" and "learns" was pretty fascinating.
It's like a living thing in some ways now....and Brian is working HARD to mimic it even more closely.
If I can tell you one thing about Brian(besides he's a genius...seriously)....is that he is determined. All the team is...but this guys focus is amazing.
We're in good hands with him in regards to this game...

Re: have they fixed the "too many hits?"
I agree with a lot of what has been said in this thread. Legend mode has REALLY toned down the hits and you have to work for them by being patient and selective. The cheap hits are few and far between as someone else here has mentioned.
I'm still able to pull balls out of the strike zone at times. Luckily most times it ends in a swinging bunt or weak grounder but I've turned a couple in to weak liners down the line for a base hit. SO, i'm really happy here that they've worked on this. What I don't get now is hits when jammed or off the handle like last year. AWESOME.
Hitting just feels natural on Legend mode. I'm still able to get HR's with contact swing which is fine because if timing is perfect and your left stick placement was right then you should hit a HR if down the line for sure.PSN: ToxicitiComment

The pitching A.I. is so sim and so real! I am glad that you pointed it out, because it is something that can fly under the radar for the whole season. It is definitely worth mentioning.Comment

Re: have they fixed the "too many hits?"
the hitting engine really really stands out the more I play this demo. The hit variety is just amazing. It really makes it feel like a BRAND new game.....before the demo came out I was extremely pessimistic about the hitting engine ( ask bruno) but boy , am I glad I was wrong about that one. I just love the overall feel of when you hit and it is so satisfying when u connect on a pitch for a solid hit.
With the gamepaly issues sorted out, it makes it that much easeir to enjoy all of the other little things in the game , lighting , mascots, fans, etc. Imagine if the dev team didn't focus on the hitting game as much as they did , this game would have fallen short for many guys here. But they didn 't, and they delivered in the biggest way possible......
I understand Brian is the head gameplay man....well you certainly were true to your words and came through for all of us diehards.Comment
