Overall team rankings aren't set by the dev team, they are derived from the rankings of all the players on the team. And player rankings are automatically calculated off of actual real life stats.
These ratings are the makings of a rich San Antonio oil tycoon that purchased SCEA studios for the sole purpose of having the Marlins ranking extremely low until the team loses the respect of all Miami residents and thus will become even more apathetic towards their team so they can be relocated to San Antonio without anyone even noticing

Wow at people getting worked up over an overall rating that likely represents a lot more than they are taking into account.

Leading the league in fewest errors allowed does not make a great defense. There are other factors.

I can chug out a slow, fat team that never gets to a ball and therefore never commits an error all season. Would that make them a great defense?

Oh well, people always overreact when it comes to ratings.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

i love how oakland is ranked 20th in pitching but had one of the lowest ERA's in baseball. i can see the batting ranking being low b/c they have no offense, but 26th overall? and putting the mariners in front of them....

Not going to bother reading through 9 pages but Russell stated over on MM that these weren't set in stone and in fact they changed a few things with certain teams.

The Mariners should be ahead of the Rays. In defense anyways. We have two potentially three gold glovers, and let's not forget the M's hold the record for longest streak with at least 1 gold glover. Every year since 1990 we have had 1 or more gold glover. Ichiro and Beltre won it last year. And Betancourt has a chance to win it this year at SS.

Already 9(!!!) pages of Team Ranking trash talk?! And you guys are expecting a group of ,let´s say 5 devs who do the rankings, make it perfect for everyone???

I heard one guy talk about player X and what a last half of year he had last season... if they would base it on only a half year those rankings would look ridiculous

Let´s just say it is not an easy job doing ratings for so many players and relax and use the editor.

We'll see how that pans out when the season starts. I understand though. Considering a lot of the Sox starting this year have had little to no experience, everyone is underrating the pitching extremely IMO.
                    That's what I was thinking.
