Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions

Here is 2 more things that I have noticed.

The Dodgers play way to many day games, every game in a series against an NL West club is a day game pretty much.

And I have never seen a partly cloudy or overcast game in my franchise, it is either night game or clear day game.

Haha, Marino, did you miss the HUGE thread about the Cubs playing all night games? If so, then apparently the MLB sent the wrong schedule to the devs, so a TON of teams have the wrong scheduled game times, including the Cubs and Dodgers (who's schedules were apparently flipflopped).

Yeah I did, and I remember hearing the Dodgers being brought up, but I did not think it was that bad. But it is. But I mean its no biggie.

I am one of you all now. I got my ps3 today and it is just a great system. I have it hooked up via HDMI and the first thing that jumps out at me are these graphics. They are absolutely gorgeous. The lighting during the day games is so vibrant and the colors seem to have a lot more pop than I can remember on my 360 (maybe thats the HDMI vs. component?).

The gameplay is just smooth. Fielding, pitching, it all just works so well. I cannot stop playing this game. Reading all of these threads put me over the edge. I know these aren't the best impressions ever, but if you are on the fence about getting rid of your 360 for this game...do it.

I am in baseball heaven right now....

^^^^^congratulations, and welcome to the PS3/Show family!

This game is........incredible. I inked out a 4-2 win, but in the bottom of the ninth, the CPU had a man on second after a leadoff double.

Adreneline pumped thru me as I tried to get the save.
After that double, it went like this:
Groundout, strikeout, game ending popup behind first.
I swear, after that last play, my hands were shaking..........and I breathed a huge sigh of relief..and was actually sweating a little...no doubt probably how a real MLB'er feels after a save like that!.......and then I thought, "this is only game 5 of the regular season..How will I feel if this same scenario happens in the playoffs or World Series!!!???"

Man, I totally get where you're coming from. Today I pitched a gem but couldn't get any offense. I lost a bases loaded with one out opportunity without scoring any runs. I was so pissed I though "how do MLB managers do this?" It literally soured my day I was so disgusted.

When I make manegerial gambles and they don't pan out, I think about them for hours. What a testament to the way the game is made.

I think I'm gonna invest in a stress ball, lol.

LOL...I hit the wrong button and made Shumaker dive into the wall. Now he's on the 60 day DL with a broken arm....

I had a guy injured 'tagging up'...he was on first, and there was a fly ball. He goes 1/2 way and then when the ball is caught he goes back to first...not going to advance. Then there's a cut scene and he's injured.

Man oh man is this game doing my head in! I've had it for 2 weeks now and have decided to play on all star as that was the level I felt most comfortable on last year. So far in my Diamondbacks franchise I'm 6-8, which is not so bad but for the life of me I can't generate any offense!! I just lost 3 in the row, knocked it down to Veteran and promptly lost 6-1 to the Rockies.

I'm really hoping I'm just in a slump because when this game is good, its stunningly good. The other night I came back from 6-1 down in the bottom of 9th to win 7-6 with a walk off HR, down to my last strike. I nearly jumped out of bed and ran around the room screaming but figured it was 2AM and my fiance was fast asleep. But after that shot in the arm I've fallen off big time. I tend to average around 10 hits a game but just can't seem to plate very many runners.

I think I might take a few days away from this game because it was making me physically angry last night and that is not how I want to feel when I'm trying to relax.

I just got finishing playing a spring training with my braves. I hit 2 homers with Chipper. Chipper hit one right handed it looked a double, so he ran out the box. His second homer was a no doubter. The highlight after the game caught his patent follow through from the left side.It is cool that they have highlights after the game or else I would have not notice.

this isn't an impression just a question i was curious about and i didnt really wanna start another thread for it. I found out that i'm gonna have to be moving soon prob not for a few months sometime this summer. But if i start my franchise say and what not, when I move and unplug the ps3 take over to my new place. When i go to play the game again will all my progress still be saved? Unplugging it won't undo everything right?

                                Right.
The PS3 has a harddrive much like a pc. The only way to lose all your progress is if you manually uninstall the game and delete all your files.
                                You should be fine.
