Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
Hey guys,
just wanted to ask if some of you have the same problem.
On my PS3 both me and the CPU have our starting pitchers nearly always at only 10% Stamina left with only 60-70 Pitches thrown...
This really ticks me off because it means my SPs are rarely able to go more than 6 Innings and if I stretch them further w'ont have full stamina on their next game in my season.
I tried to fix this problem by not loading the pitching meter to full energy on most pitches but it doesn't really make much of a difference. I tried to use the slider, too, for both me and the CPU, without recognizing muc of an effect.
It really pisses me of because I think it really hurts the realism of the game.
What's really making me wonder is that 2 freinds of mine aren't having those problems...???
Please help me, a SP is supposed tot go 100 Pitches, I really want to throw a complete game just one time...
thx
I don't want to spam, but please has anybody the same problem?
I'm playing All-Star level, forgot to tell that...Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
Has anyone played against the Phillies and faced Brett Myers yet? He seems to release the ball too late in his motion and it makes it very hard to pick up where it is going. Like his body is 3/4ths of the way through his motion when the ball comes out of his hand. Most pitchers release the ball at the height of their motion.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
There's nothing else you can do besides what you've already done.
I play on Classic Pitching, too. I've always been a meter guy going back to MVP Baseball, but classic pitching, I just feel like, uses JUST my pitcher's ratings to control the pitches. Meanwhile, it's a mix of both user skill and pitcher rating with meter, which I don't like. I just tap the pitch button for most of my pitches, but only on important counts do I go full force.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
playing every game with the Giants in my franchise. Started off 8-2 (Lincecum and Cain were both 4-0 0.00 ERA and 2 CG Shutouts each in their first 2 starts, it was ridiculous) and i'm about to change the sliders, and all of a sudden my starters can't keep runners off the basepaths. Now I'm at 8-8, behind the 10-5 Dodgers
I love this gameComment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
The best sports sim I have played. Period. One of my top five greatest ever games, if not number one. This game is quite simply awesome.
I really got my teeth in to it this weekend and finally started RTTS - I am now addicted. I made the All-Star team (AA) and have a 7-1 record (SP). With any luck, I will be continuing to push for the call up with the Orioles (I got drafted).Supporter of: St Louis Rams, Miami Hurricanes, LA Lakers, LA Galaxy, LA Dodgers, Manchester Utd.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
I tried doing a search and found no mention of it.
Is there no homerun derby mode in this game? I can't find it anywhere."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I do hope it is back next year. They do have a practice mode to hit which is pretty close.Last edited by Eton Rifles; 05-17-2009, 11:20 AM.follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
I know this will be lost in the clutter very fast, but the community input threads are closed for this topic so I'll put it here:
I'd really like to be able to access the "player cards" at all times. For example, when you are doing a defensive substitution or a double switch, you can't access the player card. It would be nice to be able to see the "other positions" a player can play when subbing defensively. Eventually I learn them over time, but it would really make things easier.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
I love this game, but the base running needs a lot of help. The controls cause have cost me numerous games where I'll run myself out of an inning because I'm trying to move one guy and another runner decides to take off as well.
I know I'll get better the more I play with it, but I've got a really sour taste in my mouth after my 9th inning rally and sac fly that should have on the game for me is nullified because when I send my runner at third home on the tag, my runner at 1st went too. Thrown out at first, go on to lose in the 12th. I'm sure it was my fault, but *** ****, these controls suckComment
