I cant blame him for knocking on MLB 2004. That game was pretty horrible. The series has come a long way since.

"We have 16 different umpire personalities behind the plate, and they all have names, so over time you'll recognize certain guys will have tight strike zones and different tendencies."
It sounds like there is 16 different Umps in the game this year
So you can play 16 games in a row with a different ump at home plateComment

I think we all need to calm down a little bit. This is not a review, it sounds like an early impression. Sony probably flew him out, wined & dined him, brought him into HQ and wowed him with new features. He played a few games, liked what he saw and all of a sudden it's the best thing since sliced bread. This doesn't sound familiar to anyone?
Prime example was Head Coach 09. Compliments to the dev team were flowing before the game was even released after early one impression was positive. After the game was released it was a different story, although I thought overall the game was well done for a first release.
I hope this dude is right though, because MVP 2005 (PC modded version) needs to retire. Although it's going to cost me $400 to buy the Show & a PS3 so I am going to read reviews carefully and wait it out a few weeks to see how it holds up to scrutiny from hard-core players.Comment

If you're a hardcore sim fan, I see no reason why you wouldn't absolutely go nuts for this game, especially considering the level it's at now. I thought MLB 06 was pretty damn good, better than MVP, bugs notwithstanding. MLB 09 on PS3 is 50x the game MLB 06 on PS2 was.Comment
