Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
It's funny you say this, because the Braves are STACKED in my RTTS as well. In year 2014, they are in first at 72-34. I wonder if there is a code in the game that Stacks particular teams, because the Braves have been on a TEAR in every offseason. There are some STACKED teams on my RTTS. One of them is the Braves:
Rotation:
Felix Hernandez
Justin Duchscherer
Tim Hudson
Derek Lowe
Javier Vazquez
Lineup:
C Brian McCann
1B Albert Pujols
2B Kelly Johnson
3B Ryan Zimmerman
SS Yunel Escobar
LF Carl Crawford
CF Ryan Freel
RF Brad Hawpe
Here they are...FYI...I use Knight's Full Minor's rosters
C Joe Mauer
1B Lars Anderson (He's a freak of nature)
2B Placido Polanco
3B Ted Calloway (Fake created player 93 Overall)
SS Cristian Guzman
OF Grady Sizemore
OF Nate McClouth
OF Jason Heyward
SP Tommy Hanson
SP Jair Jurrjens
SP Roy Halladay
SP Roy Oswalt
SP Francisco Liriano
CP Rafael SorianoBelieve None of What You Hear, and Half of What You See.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Hey guys, question about pitcher development when you start off at 18 in the minors. Is it better to put most of your points into say 3 pitches so that you start to max those out first before anything else or is it better to build a foundation by putting points into arm strength, stamina and durability?
I have 4 seam fastball, knuckle curve and splitter that are in the 3/4 range for most of the sliders (more speed for fastball, less for breaking stuff, but more break) and my stamina is good, but arm strength and durability is like 50% and fielding, forget it I suck
Now I'm just wondering if not putting a lot into those 'foundation' stats is what causes me to give up a lot of walks and 'loose' the strike zone from time to time. It's like for 3 innings I'm untouchable and then I'll get squeezed by the ump and everything goes to hell quick.
Oh yeah anyone know off the top of their head a pitch that a lefty can throw that breaks away from a right handed hitter? I'm thinking a forkball might...Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I kind've balanced it; put a little into stamina/durabilty, put a little into my pitches and so on. It's probably a good idea to up your h/9 and k/9 early. And when you reach the majors, work heavily on your hr/9, too. For me, I didn't touch it much ealry and didn't give up many HR in the minors, but when I reached the majors, it was a different story.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Been playing RttS over the weekend. Decided to give it another shot after struggling to do squak as a hitter. I have been practicing having better pitch recognition and have definitely improved. Batting at a .340 clip with decent extra base numbers. My only knock is that I still can't foul off pitches when I fall behind.
Drafted as PP 3B for the Dbacks. Hopefully I get a shot with Reynolds being so young.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
After doing a few to learn the ins and outs of each position, I decided on a switch hitting RF with the Red Sox (hitting at Fenway). After a torrid first half (.358, 40 steals) I was traded my first year for a pitching prospect to the Blue Jays right before the AA All-Star game. In my third year I'm the starting RF for the Jays. Loving this game so far.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I haven't played mine in a while but I was a RP for the Houston Astros.
I topped out right around 100 but gave up a ton of HR's. Really need to bump that skill up, I guess!
Maybe try guessing some pitches and locations? Like pick fastball and a location and sit on that pitch to drive it.http://flotn.blogspot.com

Well you're not going to be going 4-4 at the beginning. Patience is the key though. Read my post a bit up. Even though you don't draw walks, the pitcher chances of making a mistake goes up when you're up in the count.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Just fired this game up over the weekend and it is still the best sports game of 2009. Went into my RTTS. I'm currently in the year 2016 and the starting LF for the Boston Red Sox. I was just traded from Baltimore. I just played the All-Star game (2nd all-star game) and I'm currently batting .330 with 29 HR's and 92 RBI's in late July.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Gave up career number 1,000 hit to Evan Longoria yesterday. Pretty sweet how he waved to the crowd. I play for the Orioles and have severe trouble with these hitters:
Mark Teixera(sp) NYY
Victor Martinez TB
Darryl Ward TB (<-- pretty sure he's not the real Darryl Ward, though)Comment
