Quick question to those who are in your second year, I remember last year if you signed a 1 year deal with a team and re-signed with them, regardless of how you did and how far you progressed in their system you would almost always have to go back to AA, is that the case this year as well? Also is there any chance of not being put in AA and on the bench after spring training if you do really well?

That didn't happen to me. I finished the year in AAA with the Nats. They offered me a 3 year deal at the AAA level for $387,000. I took that I'm still in AAA as the #5 Starter even though I'm 12 of 15 in the organization.

i started my rtts as a SP this year, just messing around till knight gets his rosters done. i was drafted by the phillies and was used from the bullpen in AA. after a couple of weeks i became the 5th starter and even became the ace by the end of the year. i had a roller coaster year having a few great starts and the getting bombed for the next couple starts. when things went bad, everything went bad. my team wouldnt hit and would have a few errors a game and i would soon depart in the 4th or 5th inning. hehe.
anyways, i ended up going 11-9 with an era of about 3.30 and playing a couple innings in the allstar game. i would acheive about 3/4s of my goals in order to stay at AA to earn more experience, i actually prefer a few years in the minors.
so far, year 2 looks good as ive been promoted to AAA as the 3rd starter with an overall C rating.

Just throwing this out there but you and others IMO should start using the blogs for these kind of reports. More exposure and if you do a great job a chance at getting some stories on the front page ...

Chilli, that is a real nice line. I only have one complete game thus far and things are going as smoothly for me in AAA as they were in AA. I'm still the #5 SP for the Nats AAA ball club, but I've got 3 real nice pitches 4FB, Change, Slurve and my splitter is coming along nicely. I'm having so much fun playing RTTS as a SP. Here is my 5th start at AAA against the Devil Rays AAA team. Went 5 had a rough 3rd inning and got no run support. I'm still hoping for a September Call up but I don't know. A sub 2 ERA in AAA and over 4 in AAA. UGH.

Yeah, my next two starts after that were more in line with stuff like this. The thing that's getting me is that all 5 of my unearned runs came from the same guy. I wish I could kick him off the team...

Hey I was checking your blog and noticed a glitch that I had also seen when I was doing some replays. I think it has to do with a high fastball. The pitch comes "out" the pitcher while he's still winding up.

Yeah, it happens when you take the replay after the game is over i.e. using replay vault. If I take them real time right after a hit or a K. The replay will run smoothly, otherwise it is an issue. Minor but annoying not the same.

Is there a way to tell when you have a special training session coming up in RTTS or is it just random? They are cool new addition to the mode.

I think for training it's on off days when at home and the first day you get back home after a road trip. Could be wrong though.

Just did 8 innings of work giving up 2 runs , one being a solo blast to right center. I think I would have went all 9 but I was due up to hit so I guess the manager wanted to give a DH some plate time. My infielders really suck. They cost me the first run off an easily fielded grounder by the SS. They didn't even call it an error. He should have got that. Oh well.

I asked to be traded but they said not a chance. He didn't want to hurt the club. The freaking club is hurting me. I think I need to get guys to pop up more than getting them to ground out. 3rd and SS is really weak with my squad.

My team has been brutal in the field for me. They routinely throw over the first baseman's head, along with their outfield dives never working (the ball always gets past them). I can't wait until I have more competent teammates.

How could I forget that one. I get that at least once a game. And I'm not talking on average I'm talking AT LEAST once a game. This game I just played 3 times they went over 1st's head. And one was an unrushed lazy routine throw. I'm like DAMN HOW CAN YOU MISS THAT!?!?

I can't win for losing with fielding controls. Last year, the inverted controls kept fooling me; I can't tell you how many routine grounders I threw to third. So I finally found the option to turn the controls to classic. I have a runner on second and a routine grounder comes to me and what do I do? Press triangle, throws to third. And wouldn't you know it, I give up mirst first long ball of the season to the very next batter. It all turned out OK, though, as I won 7-4 after going 6.0 and giving up 4.

My fielding has been so much better this year I'll have a couple pa replays in my latest blog entry. My LF has some nice wheels for 39 Ken Griffey can cover some ground out there. In my 5 starts this year I think it's been 2 errors.

Yeah...I know it'll get better as I move up, but sometimes I go through a streak where every throw to first makes me cringe and hope it's not wild.

The most funny (not at the time though) was the throwing error to first, followed by a throwing error to 2nd (into left center) causing the guy to get from 1st to 3rd!
