Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

Yeah in RTTS I try to adjust to the lack of control and command by just starting out with a basic 2 seamer and 4 seamer. I've always actually been able to put numbers in Spring Training, but when I get to the minors it's a different story.

Well I got a bump into the rotation! After 7 appearances and 13.1 innings pitched as the LRP. I had 2 wins a 4.73 ERA, 12 Ks, a 1.20 WHIP. So I am in the AA rotation which is a step in the right direction!

I am currently a backup OF/1b for the Akron Aeros. (AA affiliate of the Indians. Was drafted by the Indians)

Had a horrible spring, currently in AA, hoping to break in to the lineup soon. Currently hitting .353 with a couple of RBI's as a part time player, just 17 AB's.

1yr 32,500 offer from Yankees to be backup CF for AA. I got 2 singles on my 1st game (came in as a sub in inning 3 of the 2nd game of the year). Right after the game I learned I tweaked my elbow and will miss a few games and not go on DL. After 5 missed games, I recovered and was instantly made the starting CF for the Trenton Thunder. Checked the DL list but no one was hurt. What a head scratcher that one was. Not complaining though.

First start at AA. 6 IP, 7 hits, 2 runs only 1 earned, no walks and 4 K's. Didn't get the decision, but I pitched well enough that we won the game in the late innings. Not to bad I'm the 3rd pitcher in the rotation.

The starting CF may have been called up to AAA.

You lucky dog. Did the Yanks actually choose you or did you do some finagling to get there? lol

Things starting to look a little better for you huh? At least you're in the rotation. I gotta try to at least get that far.

One month in and I am still the backup LF/1b for the AA Akron Aeros.

                  In 37 AB's I am hitting .270 with 1 2B and 4 RBI.

You think you'll make it out of AA with those numbers?

I gotta get in to the starting lineup before I can worry about getting out of AA. It's tough to get in to a rhythm with such inconsistent playing time.

I feel you all the way on that. I'm coming out the bullpen on some BS and I'm supposed to shine? I remember one time I came in with men on 2nd and 3rd with one out. COME ON MAN, I'm supposed to get a pass on that one even if I F it up.

Lol, silly me, the DL list scrolls downwards. On the 2nd page, I see the LF for Trenton Thunder is out for 2 months with a torn calf. Hopefully, he stays there. Hey, he's only a buncha ones and zeroes!
