Vaughn's STATS day before AA All-Star break:

Luckily I caught this in time, because I'm actually content where I'm playing right now.

My blog is a game behind right now. But I just pitched the best game of my career and it was in the Majors. I'm quite pleased with myself. I'll probably post the recent update tonight. It was a great game for me.

Wow already? Either you racked up incredible amounts of pts, or you totally ignored achievements

Nice HR celebration. To me, thats the most important aspect when selecting a Batting Stance.

I can not believe how immensely awesome this game is!!! I haven't touched a baseball game since the one I played in N64 (forgot the title), and finally decided to try this game. Boy one of my greatest game buying decision in my life! Haven't played other modes yet, only have been playing RTTS, but this game is quickly kicking my love for football games to the curb!!

the goals are starting to piss me off. it seems you wouldnt have such lofty expectations from a guy with such poor player ratings. wouldnt it make more sense to have a goal of "move the runner over" when you have a guy on 2nd and no out instead of drive in teh run when you have a crappy hitter rating.

what really pisses me off are the advancement goals. Why do I have to increase my bunting, plate vision skills when I don't even bat (I'm a SP)? Either I have to train areas where i don't use, or fail most of my goals. Very annoying.

Oh and for all those pitchers out there, are your attributes all very low for like Contact, power, plate vision, etc?

I dont mind the advancement goals, usually just one or 2 40 point uses will get you to meet that goal. but how am I supposed to get the points if I get all my hits when its swing away and all my outs when its get on base etc, they cancel each other out.

You and I are on the same page. I was thinking of someone who had a two-handed followthrough and wondered if Mike Piazza was still in the game(cause we all know his swing) That video shows the answer to that :-D

I agree I hate that. The game should realize that if I'm hitting .200 in the last 2 weeks, hey, why not have a goal to increase my contact?

Noooooooo ... rather, its '**** contact, we need more vision and bunting from you"

When I have advancement goals that don't need to be filled..I just don't do them. Now that I'm in the majors, I just make sure to finish two "goal periods" in a row...Then skip the next two and only get warned.

I also skipped mine, unless it takes very little training points to fulfill it. And I'm in AA right now so I don't think failing them will hurt me too much.

It won't really...I purposely failed goals during my AA and AAA time to build up my player, so he was "ready" when getting called up to the bigs. Problem was, my guy was hitting so good that by 20yrs old, I was up with the big dogs. So my ratings are still a little low!
