Kind of what I was thinking. The only other thought was I'm still on vetran, so that may have something to do with the point variance. Maybe higher difficulties don't allow such a cushion on these things.

I will say that I have the opposite regarding hitting. I get better the more I see, the only problem is with batting practice. I tend to swing at everything trying to get as many points as I can towards hitting. (I know if you take a ball it upgrades discipline) So when I got into a game I tend to start swinging away. I too swing at stuff that is just scary. Soo far outside, or up high.

My other issue is I can't go deep into counts. Usually if I'm lucky I get a 2-0 count which puts me ahead. Even if I see a strick on the next one, I'm able to draw a 3-1 or 3-2 count. but if they start off with a strick, I barely go over three pitches. At 1-1 I'm swing and don't know why.

Regarding my RTTS...with my hitter. My pitcher is still on leave of absence.

I got home last night, played about a weeks worth of games. I got into a slump as it was my first time starting in AA. I managed only .250 average over those 7 or so games, but my overall average only dropped to .333. I guess that was good enough as I got the nod to start in AAA at 3B, my second position.

I just played a few games this morning. I'm still in a bit of a slump, but had one really good game where I went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI. I'm currently hitting .303 in AAA starting at 3B. While in AA I was the #1 LF in the league, but now jumping up to AAA I'm only 53/68 or something close to. My income jumped up to 75K and they have me batting in the cleanup spot! Why I'm not sure as my attributes are the least developed over anyone on that team. I haven't topped 50 yet in either contact or power. We'll see how long I last up here as I have a feeling I'll be heading back down soon.

Man this game is like your favorite Jelly Belly jelly beans. My created player, Moose Davis, got promoted to AAA in my second season. I started out on the bench, but my pay got doubled up to 75K. I was excited about moving up till my team signed Luis Gonzalez. Well they decided the old guy was better than me so I kept riding the pine. I was an exclusive PH and occasional outfield replacment the first month or 2 of the season. The only thing was when I spot started I was on fire going 2-4 or 3-5. I kept taling to my manager but he kept shooting me down. I finally got my avg. to around .300,with 12 rbi's and 2 SB. the manager finally promoted me and I am staying very consistent. My only problem is I haven't met half of my goals the first 2 times and he warned me it better not happen again. So far I have kept my strike outs low, and I am hitting the ball well, when I slump it is because I am hitting the ball hard, but right at people. I haven't messed with any sliders or adjusted pitch speed because I figured I needed to suck first to simulate my experience into the minor league baseball system.

As people have discussed before, all of a sudden in my 3rd season I am hitting like .150

But since my power numbers are approaching 70, I hit 5 HRS in 1 month, which is a best for this character.

.. my avg is steadily increasing however. I'll just chalk it up to off season rust

Well, time for my first update (and third post). I started in AA with the Trenton Thunder at CF. My first season resulted in a .283 BA, 5 HR's, 65 RBI's, 60 SO's (ouch), and 48 SB's! I just started my second season last night and I was promoted to AAA with the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees. I managed to hit a HR in my fourth game, which I was super excited about! I think I'll provide some healthy competition for Brett Gardner at the CF spot until he moves up to the majors.

I must admit, I am so pleased with this game. I haven't even started to play a bunch of games with ML teams, but once the season starts and the rosters are out I will be all over it. This is so much fun.

Watch out in AAA. In my second year towards the end of the season Johnny Damon and Nick Swisher were playing in Scranton. Melky was higher than Damon and They Yanks signed a nice LF bat for Swisher.

Is there anyway to see your stats from past seasons once the year ends?

I played my first season in AA & AAA. Now it's my second season and my player card seems to only show my stats if played in the majors.

(sorry if this has been asked already, couldn't find it in a search)

Rick Vaughn had his best outing in AA (2009 Season) with a 9 inning complete game shutout. Here are some pictures...

                My teammates were pumped!

Some solid experience points to work with.

My STATS with about two weeks left in the season...

780!? Good god, I wish I could get that many with my LF. Of course, it took a great game to get that many. Nice job.

Well I encountered my first bug. I can no longer do batting practice. The pitcher just stands there and my guy doesn't appear. No work around thus far. Anyone else experiencing this?

This sucks as I'm only in my first season. I don't ever get tones of points on it, but every little bit helps.

Also, I'm sucking it up in AAA. They got me in the #4 spot so they keep pitching around me, and thus I can't make contact because my guy is not even really ready for AAA. I just reached over 50 for contact on RHP.

I may end up going back to my pitcher and abandoning my batter.

I've seen a couple threads about this. I think it will eventually start working again.

So is it normal to hit around .150-.200 your 3rd year? I'm pulling my hair out. Obviously they have the scouting report on me......don't throw me strikes because I swing at anything! I've resorted to putting the controller down until I have 2 strikes on me, just to prevent myself from swinging at a pitch that would have hit the bat boy.

I'm back in AA, and I'm not kidding when I say the pitchers throw 70-80% or so of their pitches outside the strike zone. I'm not talking painting corners, I'm talking 3 feet outside. My own inability to NOT SWING at this stuff is the cause I know, but man I thought I had this hitting thing down....not. If this game had a A or Rookie ball, I'd be there.

Batting practice mode (the outside RTTS one if need be) really helps me with this problem. So too does zeroing the pitch speed.

If all else fails, try turning on guess pitch and pick up on the location of a few of those pitches you can't lay off - nothing says you have to use it to guess pitch type and speed!

BTW, in an ironic twist of fate my RTTS player was drafted by ..... the White Sox. Sigh - I'll probably end up contributing to the Cubs long championship drought instead of ending it.

I started using guess pitch 1/4 cause Im so horrible at seeing pitches that are outside, and its impossible for me to see if a ball is gonna be a ball low, everything that ends up low looks belt high to me until it gets right to the plate. so it helps if you can guess the pitch right if not you are on your own.

Anyone know if there is a list compiled anywhere on the internet of what gives you what amount of training points? That's worded a little funny, but hopefully it makes sense. Just curious to see a list and look it over.
