I bought my PS3 about 2 months ago just for MGS4 & MLB 09 the Show. Haven't been let down yet, and am still expanding my PS3 library, and damn Killzone 2 looks awesome for anyone who hasnt downloaded the free demo yet...

I also have done the same in buying a PS3 for this game. got a good buy from a guy in the country and have been playing the demo since I got it. I wont even know I have a blu Ray player in it cause the PS3 will only have the show in it. Cant believe I have flipped the money just to buy a console for this game. the last time I felt like this was when I was about to buy a Neo Geo just to play baseball alllstars. I'm in Aus and wont get the game till Friday hopefully since I had to get it sent from half way around the world.

And if you are also into shooters, Killzone 2 is pretty sweet....I did the same thing. I love my 360 but I dropped $300 to get my 40GB....I had a 60GB with backwards compat but I traded it in seven months after purchase due to a weak game library.

Now I wish I still had the backward compatibility....Yes, I have bought two PS3's in my lifetime....

Today I found a ps2 backwards compatible ps3 for 300 on craigslist... between reading "the show" forums for two years and playing the other game on 360 I finally decided now that I have a little extra dough I'm gonna make the plunge. I'm sure that the ps3 has more to offer than just "The Show" but no other game could have made me switch... well I just wanna say howdy and that I will finally be able to be a real part of the community and not just a lurker

.......and that's a well spent $300....

I did the exact same thing last year and couldn't have been happier. I had mentioned this earlier, but the show is the only game that has lasted the whole year and will be traded in when I go pickup 09 on Tuesday.

I've heard/read about some of the bugs, and to be honest they really seem to be infrequent and not to big of a deal. I also say this with not much worry knowing that there is a patch coming shortly after release to fix online/gameplay issues.

It's this quick support and obvious care about their game and customers that surpasses any other sports title out there.

Add me to that list as well. I bought mine off ebay 20gb and I love the blu-ray and backwards compatibility. Only thing I regret was not getting the 60gb with the wi-fi connection.
