The game doesn't do Verlander justice because he has more pitches than what the game gives him. I can understand why people sit on his fastball, but he has more options. That makes him harder to gage in real life because it's not so easy to just sit on his fastball.

Obviously I play with Detroit so I'll concur with whoever said Fausto Carmona. After a while I can adjust to pitchers, but his sliders have me beating balls into the ground all day long. I always have to wait for him to tire out by the 6th or 7th (if I'm lucky).

Other than that, C.C. is tough. I'm glad I don't play him enough to respect his talent more.

I can usually use Verlander with good effect, he's nice as is.

I usually can't pitch Zito vs good opponents without getting shelled. he got almost no break on his pitches except for him curve, if umpire isn't calling the corners, it's going to be a short outing for Barry.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who struggles with Brandon Webb. That sinker and circle change eat me alive. The worst part is that I usually know what's coming, and at the very least I know it's going to be down or out of the zone.

They just look so damn hittable... but before I know it I'm swinging at a ball that's at my shoe laces.

Zach Greinke just beat my Red Sox team like they stole something. This is the second time I have faced him and that 96 mph fastball coupled with the 74-77mph Curveball is just shy of cheating.

His line this time was a three hitter, 9 K's, and a very impressive 115 pitch complete game shutout of 4-0.

Lester pitched well for me and I moved the ball around, but Billy Wagner let the team down by giving up a 3 run jack on his first pitch in relief in the 8th inning...

So, my vote goes to Greinke for his huge disparity of speed between his 4-seamer and Uncle Charlie. Very nasty.

Like others have said...I tend to struggle with junkballers more than the guys with good heat. But Webb and Peavy have both been tough on me in the past from the non-junkballer camp.

Gio Gonzalez for some odd reason.

Jorge Posada I can't pitch too for some reason either.

I just played against Clayton Kershaw with my Giants franchise and we lit him up for 7 runs in the first 4 innings. Then they brought in relievers and I couldn't get anything going after that. They started lighting up Barry Zito around the 7th, ended up being a close game.

Just wait until Clayton Kershaw's actual pitching motion is in the game then he should be tougher to face

Webb eats me alive. I think his sinker is a fastball and end up hitting into a double play (if I was even lucky enough to get on in the first place). Brandon Backe of the Astros kills me. During his delivery his throwing hand just kind of disappears in front of his chest and I can't time it at all. He got traded to an AL team after my first season with the cardinals and I couldn't have been happier. League is my least favorite reliever. For some reason I can never figure him out and he will pitch 2-3 innings every game of the series.

He is the reason why I don't own the game anymore lol! I couldn't get a hit to save my life. I was so pissed that I hit eject and took the game back. I miss the game, but '10 will still be a day 1 purchase. I'm starting to like baseball.

I just had Kip Wells 4-hit shutout me. Not kidding.

Of the pitchers i've had a tough time with recently, Randy Wells comes to mind for the Cubs. I only managed like 3 hits, but one of them was a 3 run homer. I ended up winning, but more because Ben Sheets is a freaking monster in this game.

I also remember having difficulty with Cliff Lee. Had a scoreless pitching duel going into the 9th until J.J. Hardy hit a go ahead solo home run.

I can't do jack squat with Barry Zito's 12-6. When I don't swing, it's a strike on the knees. When I swing, it's a ball. And a strike. Gives me fits, though I do well against his other pitches.

And I loathe Santana's circle change with a passion for the aforementioned reasons.

I just lost a heartbreaker to Joel Piniero from St. Louis of all people. Game 5 of the NLCS, i lost the game 1-0. Cards had 11 hits and i only managed 5. He literally threw first-pitch strikes to nearly all of my batters he faced. Could rarely get a good pitch to handle let alone guess he would throw. Gotta love drama of the postseason though!

I have the most trouble with junk pitchers like Paul Byrd, heh. They toss around multiple pitches and their locations vary greatly (whether by design or by lack of control) which has me guessing after every pitch and makes me look foolish a lot of times.

I light Zumaya up, love to see him coming out the pen. But, AJ Burnett of the Yanks gives me all kind of trouble.

Playing as the Giants I'm glad I never have to face Lincecum, Cain or Zito. Playing as Zito I almost feel like I'm cheating when I throw that 12-6 curve, its ridiculous.
