now im not the best player right now so take this with a grain of salt...but im getting a good variety of wins and losses on All Star...I was Oakland at baltimore and they handed me my arse 10-3, with 2 of my runs coming in the 9th...so atleast for me all star is where im staying until I start consistently beating the cpu on that level

When you think about it the whole PCI think is exactly what baseball video games used to do. Back in the days of World Series Baseball and the like they would have a visual rectangular box that you could move around in the strikezone. To hit the ball it had to be timed and within the box. Interesting that we have kind of came full circle on this one. I love The Show's hitting, don't get me wrong but I still feel like MVP 2005 had the best hitting system.

Allstar level has kept me very interested in the games so for. I've played around 15 to 20 games. I've a few classic games. Ive won a few close ones, lost a few close ones, have blown out the CPU, and they have blown me out. I enjoy it. And if I get to the point where I cant lose Im just going to move to HOF.

I believe the PCI is the same size for all hitters, but there is a rating called PVis (Plate Vision) and this seems to affect how much leeway a player has with a ball near their PCI.

So a guy with a low PVis needs to have the PCI make more direct contact with the ball to result in bat-to-ball contact. A player with a higher PVis seems to be able to foul off pitches that the PCI misses.

Every now and again. Never usually amounts to anything. Usually just X and sometimes the stick.

Are you checking your feedback? If you're not getting "perfect" or "solid" feedback then you're probably not making good enough contact to drive the ball.

                    I don't use power.

How do I check my feedback on a hit? I don't know if I am getting solid contact because I can only get feedback on missed pitches.

When the next hitter comes up, take the same steps before you see a pitch. It'll show you your last swing.

The only time you won't get to see feedback is when your hit results in the third out.

I just hit about 100 balls in batting practice. The feedback is sometimes a bit confusing. For example sometimes I will hit a little nubber and it won't get out of the infield but when I look at the feedback the "contact" will say either solid or wheelhouse (which I assume is even better than solid). The ball will be outside of the PCI. Doesn't make a lot of sense sometimes.

who are you using in batting practice? If I was you I would use maybe a 2nd tier player instead of the stud on a team...the very good hitters in the game can still hit balls outside of their PCI...so with lesser skilled players in BP will make you really have to get the ball in the PCI...then if you can hit with say Derosa....imagine what you can do with Alfonso lol

Mark DeRosa is a bad example. DeRosa has great contact with a little pop. I think you meant Paul Bako.

On All-Star with fielder speed at 0 I'm seeing plenty of extra base hits (both gap and down the line). Much better than last year.
