see, i get everything that was written but thats not my problem with pitch recognition. I see the ball, hit where the pitch is going. I get perfect and good or perfect and superb most of the time to which you'd think base hits but no every time its right at a defender or the ball hangs up for a long period time when you'd think its in the gap or whatever.

any other ideas as to what can fix this? is it settings or what?

One day Ted Williams, who was known for not swinging at the first pitch, slammed the first pitch out of the park. They pitcher yelled "Hey, you weren't supposed to swing."

Playing online I've found that pretty much anything that's a strike will be a hit about 99% of the time for most players.

Hitting in this game isn't challenging. My first game on Legend vs the CPU I accumulated 14 hits in the first 5 innings, then stopped playing and put the game up for sale.

LOL, because of 1 game ? There's so many cliche phrases that can be applied to your action..

In last years game I went thru this same kind of thing except I played on All-Star and Sliders that made hitting harder. I used guess pitch all the time and couldn't hit a lick. I realized that the penalty for guessing wrong was so high that it was causing me to hit poorly. So what'd I do? Turned off guess pitch, started reading pitches and really trying hard to focus and really upped my batting avg. So I took that into this years game and I'm still hitting pretty good. Although I still have the solid hits turned down to 1, I can make solid contact in realistic occasions and manage to get a few homeruns. I'm still tweaking sliders but the set I have seems pretty good so far. The OP was a little long so I stopped reading but I agree that this could really help someone out on any difficulty level

even though this write-up is old, it can still be helpful in this years game to someone not hitting well

first off this is some hella good necro buddy! This is good starting hitting tips. I would have also included info about pitch choices that are typical in the counts listed and really warned about the keeping the pci (left stick) down all the time because the pitches up in the zone are the ones you really want later when you get better and you might start going down instinctivly (that doesn't sound right) and missing the pitches up.

Thanks man. I've played the show for a few years and ive always guessed fastball on rookie, pretty much only play RTTS. Thought i was pretty good then i started reading these forums, I've been trying to kick my guess pitch crutch and I've moved the difficulty up to All Star to help draw some walks, so far i have stuggled mightily.
