I believe Ian (in the Madden forums) mentioned that you are allowed a freebie in terms of patches, but after the 1st one you may have to pay Microsoft/Sony? I know there was some stipulation.

That being said, since this is a 1st party title, I wonder if there is some sort of leniency there.

You know, that might be correct. Some corporations have indiviual budgets for different departments/Studios.

I know when I worked for IBM, each division had so much $$ we could spend. We even went outside of the corporation to get certain things done because it was too expensive to have someone within IBM do the work!, I know it's crazy, but that's how some coporations are.

It was a Microsoft thing. Sony may have similar limits, but Ian didn't specify that they did.

This patch was made to fix issues we found before the game shipped. I'll see if I can get a list of what it fixed, but I wouldn't count on it.

Would you care to enlighten us on possible future patches. Possibly one to fix the Cubs (and many other teams) schedules during franchise?

EA released an excellent description about the fixes in the nhl09 patchs so i don't see why we shouldn't expect one from scea.

Well, it obviously didn't do anything to fix online lag, just played a game an hour or two ago and it was filled with the most lag I've experienced online so far. Not to rant, but this is absolutely inexcusable in my opinion. Why even have online play if it's totally unplayable? I love the game other than this (and the commentary haha), but this is ridiculous. Please fix online!

The main thing I've noticed is the scoring ticker at the bottom is functioning the way it should.
