HELL NO. I just threw down $400 last Friday for a PS3 and The Show in part due to 2k forcing the R-stick down my throat. Listen, maybe I'm too old school, but among other things (the game being considered the greatest) I am in part doing this because I want to go back to the controls I've been using for years.
should the show go to right analog controls

Re: should the show go to right analog controls
I really need right stick controls because the ligaments in my thumb get strained from constantly pressing the X button. I am now using my index finger instead of my thumb until it heals........I can play NHL 09 without pain with my thumb but not the Show. By the way, same thing happened to me last march when the show came out. I played it too much and strained my thumb lol.Comment

Re: should the show go to right analog controls
Same, I really hope they don't add it because I think it will somehow screw up what they already have, but if they do add it, it should be optional.
Just like kev, I felt that since MVP NCAA right stick hitting is oversimplified. My thoughts were reaffirmed when I played 2k9 and never swung and missed with the r stick hitting.Go Yankees
Go Rangers
Go Giants

Re: should the show go to right analog controls
Absolutely, it should be an option. It's the direction sports games have been going and MLB 09 feels a bit behind the curve when it comes to controls. Also, the option to remap buttons would be very welcome as well. The more options the better.Comment

Re: should the show go to right analog controls
It may not be EXACTLY like swinging a bat, but a darn CLOSER that pushing a BUTTON. Take a break.Comment

Re: should the show go to right analog controls
Yea, it's closer like those mini finger skateboards are close to actual skateboarding. It's a video game controller, not a bat. If you want to swing a bat get a wii, or go play baseball.Comment

Re: should the show go to right analog controls
As long as they don't take away the controls as is, I don't care.
Personally, I hate the swing stick and will never use it and will never buy a game that uses it as the only option.Too Old To Game Club

Re: should the show go to right analog controls
umm, ultimately it's a video game controller so neither is "closer"...
i guess pushing the buttons to throw to bases is unrealistic to you too, huh? If you're aiming for that, then go outside and play real baseball
your logic just proves that it's nothing but a cheap gimmickComment

Re: should the show go to right analog controls
Yes but only if the controls are as tight at MVP college baseball was.this is the only thing keeping the game from being truly next gen. the game can get a bit tedious with the same boring controls every year. they are effective, but i prefer the right analog. 2k doesn't implement it perfectly, but it's much more fun to use. are the show developer's considering this for future games?Comment

Re: should the show go to right analog controls
I didn't use the swing stick too often as I couldn't get used to it, but I really liked throwing to fielders with the right analog stick. I think as long as it's an option, it would be cool to see. I think if the swing stick were implemented in a better way, I could be persuaded to try it.Comment
