Re: whats your RTTS batting avg?

Not too far into my 1st year of spring training with the Pirates. 18 AB with 9 hits for a .500 BA. 4 RBI No runs 2 Doubles 1 SB 3 CS 4 Strike outs and 1 BB.

I'm having a real hard time getting to home plate once I get on base. Of course almost a third of the time I've been on base I've gotten caught stealing so.....

Seems like every cut scene after the game is the manager chewing me out.

(I'm just waiting for a cut scene of the manager bitch slapping me for going 0-4 in a game)
Thank you for the great line at the end of your post. I am sitting here at work pissed at everyone (I work in I.T.) and this made me smile. I have thought similar thoughts. Your last line actually made me laugh out loud.

haha my coach is constantly bitching at me. One time I dove for a ball and missed it and got hurt on the play, I guess my manager didnt care because they showed a cut scene of him bitching at me lol.

Re: whats your RTTS batting avg?

I'm batting .210 in my first season of AA for the Mets. The coach has me riding the pine most of the time because the starting CF is on fire and the manager refuses to move me to another position. The CF is going to have to have a "accident". I for the life of me can't lay off a low curve ball. I swear the pitcher could yell to me "I'm throwing this sucker in the dirt!" and I'd still take a hack. I feel like that voodoo guy in Major League cripes.

One thing that has been helping me though is the switch to the wide camera angle. I'm picking up the pitches much better then with the catcher view. I think I'm going to hit the batting cages tonight and just have them throw me curves over and over and over until I get it through my thick skull not to swing at the low ones.

Re: whats your RTTS batting avg?

Right now I am batting .359 on Veteran in my first season. Starting RF in AA for the Mets. I've had around 150ish at bats through the first couple months of the season.

As of right now I still have no home runs. I've had a lot of hits to the warning track or even off the wall, but still can't get one over. My contact ratings are 55/58 and my power ratings are both in the 40s. My power ratings obviously aren't great, but damn it can I have just one home run?

Re: whats your RTTS batting avg?

I hit .290 combined in my first year at AA and AAA (.320 at AA and .269 at AAA). I was moved up to AAA because of injury to a starter up there. Of course, for some unknown reason, management decided to put me in AA again to begin 2010, so I was on a mission to prove those f'ers wrong. I proceeded to hit .358 with 7 HRs, 7 doubles and 6 triples in the first 40 games before I finally got the call to AAA.

Since then, I haven't cooled down one bit. Hitting 3rd, I'm currently at .468 with 2 HRs and 15 RBIs in only 15 games. I'm absolutely on fire right now.

That's what happens when you motivate a future star...hahaha.

Re: whats your RTTS batting avg?

I hit .275 my first year on Veteran after getting drafted at SS by the Padres. Here's the crazy thing...in an entire season of 548 AB's I drew a total of 1 walk...patient hitter here. Now I'm in AAA in my second year. About a month in hitting .290. Another good story - During a huge slump in my 1st year, I was pretty sure they were screwing me and had it confirmed when I had 2 HRs robbed in consecutive series'.

Re: whats your RTTS batting avg?

I played the hell out of RTTS in 08, and in my last season I hit .471 in 580 ABs. This was on Hall of Fame difficulty, so naturally I was pretty excited to hear there was going to be a fifth level (Legend).

I get 09, win a couple of games on Legend (with MLB clubs) and I decide to start RTTS. I've played three seasons now and my avgs were .199, .215 and .211 (all in AA).

Here's what I think is happening. I get into extended slumps which are compounded by progressive batter performance (those arrows which tell you how you're doing at the plate). I've been able to break out and hit around .300, but only for weeks at a time (my best streak was a 10 game stretch at .340). These hot streaks are overwhelmed by cold ones where I go hitless in 3-4 straight games.

I'm hoping that once my contact and power ratings get to around the 80's range I'll be able to put up decent numbers, but I'm starting to get worried.

I've been hovering between .270 and .310 for the past couple of weeks in the month of May on veteran.
