Does Traning/Player Development work in Franchise???

Last year you could develop players and spend money in certain areas to improve, but all I see now are those check boxes for traning, and by using them, all my players ratings still get worse. What the heck?

Yeah i noticed this also, i have two of my youngest and best players (Justin Upton & Chris Young) having their ratings dropped for some reason, i have the boxes checked and Upton and Young are both having pretty good seasons...I dont understand why their ratings are dropping.

I think I heard that they don't develop in the season but in the off season they go up a couple clicks depending on how they did
      LA Angels
      Dallas Cowboys
      Anaheim Ducks

Franchise is NOT impressive this year. So much is left to conjecture because so little is adequately explained. Hiring/firing staff? Only in offseason, and don't even try to hunt down the farm director -- he apparently doesn't exist. Scheduling promotions? Hiding out on the calendar.

Not to mention that when hiring new staff, it seems that you can hire anyone for any position, but attribute categories that are affected change based on the position. So, if I hire a guy to be my manager, does he ONLY affect attributes on the "hire manager" screen, or also the attributes he's attached to on the other hire screens? Answer: who knows. Horrible.

Then there's progression. What's the point of franchise if players don't progress correctly/much/based on training (what the hell does THAT do?!), or simply regress slowly over the years? How will minor league players progress without a farm director? Why do created players have horrible potential ratings?

I'm not an online guy, so if franchise is this buggy this year, that, combined with the unforgiving hitting difficulty in play this year, means a possible trade in.

Very disappointed in franchise. Contracts, good; everything else, either no change since 08 or worse.

Yea, I would like to hear something from SCEA about the "training" mode in franchise. I think a lot of people are baffled by it.
