Yeah, a TON of guys wanted this game harder. They gave it to us, so what happens, way too many people went straight to LEGEND and couldn't figure out why the hell the CPU scored tons of runs, lol.

I won't even play on HOF this year. Glad I know my limitations.

Yep.....same here....I am liking it....alot. More challenge equals more satisfaction.

Yes! Losing.....I love it.....last year ya almost had to try and lose a few games as to not run away with whatever division you played in....now....wins need to be earned....I have no problems getting my *ss handed to me.....more satisfaction when you win. No changes are needed in Legend mode as far as hitting is concerned.

I still want the game to be harder but more realistic. Hitting is still too easy. CPU hitting can be ridiculous on Legend, I just want the CPU to bat more like human players instead of machines. If I make a mistake with a pitch and they crush it, I'm fine with that. The CPU barely chases anything; the splitter is a useless pitch. The changeup is useful because it'll mess up their timing but they won't chase a changeup low (one of the hardest pitches to lay off in my opinion). Strikeout pitchers with average to low command are useless because CPU hitting is very location based and they don't chase or swing and miss enough.

this post should end with.."in my opinion" because I could not disagree with you more. I'm 16th in the majors in strikeouts and this is with the Cardinals' pitching staff...

Okay, for you, but there are guys who are completely happy with the way LEGEND plays.
              So, two different opposing views.

I had to give up on legend not cause of hitting cause of pitching. I'm mad too. So now Im currently on HOF default.

I am having alot of success with the splitter....and the sinker, two of the better strike out pitches in my opinion. What I have found to maybe make it more effective is I throw it a little bit higher in the strike zone than one would think is wise....I can still manage to get it in the dirt after it crosses the plate....I also throw it high and out of the zone having it break down for a high strike. It took alot of trial and error (what I use spring training for) to find the proper break point...but IMO...good pitches.

Re: Legend mode very hard to hit? whats up?

I can't hit on LEGEND either. In fact, after bumping back down to HOF with my tail between my legs, I couldn't hit there either...lol. I'm comfortably mediocre on ALL-STAR for now.

Ironically, I don't get whoever posted that you can't strike out the CPU on LEGEND. I was able to get better at pitching and got a fair amount of K's on the AI to boot (once got 11 in one game...also ironic is the fact that it's the most I've gotten in 09 to date on ANY level...lol).

I was getting into a lot of low scoring games because I was able to start holding down the CPU, but still couldn't hit. I screamed "UNCLE!" (Rex would be proud) and likely won't return to the mode until after the season...if at all...lol.

Keep in mind too, I was one who was asking for a harder game and boasting my hitting skills last year. Humble pie never tasted so good though.

Re: Legend mode very hard to hit? whats up?

I finally gave up and went down to hall of fame (from legend) with default sliders and I won! For the first time this year lol. The stats:

                      ATL 3 11 0

                      OAK(me) 5 7 0

They had 1 HR and I had 2. I had 1 double they had 3, and they had 1 triple.

They K'd me 6 times (yes! used to like 10+) and walked me once.

                      I K'd them 2 times and walked them 5 .

88 Pitches for Duchscherer in 6.1 IP and Lowe had 99 Pitches in 6 IP. We each had 1 SB.

Again, Hall Of Fame, no slider adjustments. I'm liking this.

I gotta stop saying this, but all you guys who are playing on LEGEND and having problems, and complaining, I'm glad to see you dropped down to HOF and felt better about it.

I don't really know what draws anyone to LEGEND except for those gamers who

                        1. Are finding parts of the game to easy.
                        2. Are glutons for punishment, lol.
                        3. Are a step above (big step) the rest of us in your gaming ability.

If anyone followed the devs themselves trying to beat this level and the guys who went to the event, it should be obvious that this is a tough, tough, frustrating, level for most people to even go near.

I was one of those who jumped right to Legend when I bought the game. I did so because I was so use to HoF that I wanted to see how hard Legend was. Well after winning 2 out of my first 10 or so games I said the hell with it and went down to All-Star. I may go up to HoF later.

You know why because the computer will mimic your game sometimes to keep it close on legend. If you k alot yourself then they might as well. I dont k very often.

For me Legend difficulty have been a blessing, without messing with any of the Sliders, I get unbelievable realistic statics for particular games and seasons too.

                                Hmmm...maybe so, I honestly don't know. I don't think I K'd a lot though (it's been awhile now though, so I'm not 100% about how much I K'd in that game).

I've never had too much trouble making contact. I just couldn't make solid contact on LEGEND at all. As I said, pitching was fine once I got a bit better. Maybe hitting would have too (though the gap seemed MUCH greater...lol).

I dunno, but I am definitely keeping my distance for the forseable future...lol
