My vote goes for the line after just about every double play turned. "Well, that's not usually the way you'll see it done, but I'm sure they'll take it" or something to that effect. Sorry, but 6-4-3 and 4-6-3 IS "usually the way you see it done."

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
anytime they get too negative i dont really like. you never hear announcers ride a player whatsoever in real life, let alone the constant barrage of insults when you missa pitch that happens in the show. the people who made MVP baseball seemed to think that sort of thing was a cute idea too. always yelling about meat and screaming yuck and ew if you struck out. In fact so did 2k baseball somewhat. It doesnt happen in real life.Comment

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
I hate when they say "And if they lose this game here they will fall to 2 games under .500" HELLO look at my record, i am NOT 2 games under if i lose this. I am still about 4 over.
EDIT - it's already been said, sorry. But i still don't like it hahaComment

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
This one isn't verbatim, but it's to this effect. From Rex:
"How about a 1st pitch homer to start off the inning? HELLOOO!! That'll snap you back to reality on the mound."
Fortunately, as I don't hit many 1st pitch home runs to start off innings, I don't hear this much. But it seems to play 100% of time when its criteria is met.Comment

Any line said by Rex Hudler, he is horrible, I mostly hate when he says "watch your lips, chuck and duck!" Very annoying.Comment

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
Agreed. Matty V and Soup make it sound like it's a real game. Rex makes a mockery out of it.Just about anything Rex says.
Hopefully SCEA will listen to many of us and chuck Rex. How many installments has he said the same thing? He's not funny, he's not cute. He really takes away from what Matt does. I cringe whenever Rex chimes in because he repeats himself and he's, did I say not funny.
Two man booth with Dave interacting with Matt.
That one where he says "EEEAAASSSSYYYY there......" Would he pull that crap in real life?? Any player in the bigs would pull a Milton Bradley if they heard him act like that.Comment

REX:
"You're supposed to be the designated hitter, not the designated watcher! Swing the bat!"
This after watching the second pitch go by for a strike! I'm thinking, "man, chill, I'm waiting for my pitch!"Comment

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
Well I think the announcing in this game is awful, they aren't really announcing. They are just making general statements, there is no flow to it at all.
And I hate when they say things that make no sense. Like everytime my closer comes into the game to wrap it up they'll say "If he can close this out they'll move to .500 on the season" He says that every single time, guess what Dave I'm 10-5, I'm way past the .500 mark.....try and keep up.Comment

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
To me all of the lines regarding close strikes not called and balls on the corners are way to overused. In a real game a commentator isn't gonna point out a blown call like that every time, and sometimes they might even think that the ump made the right call. I'd like to see these bigger pool of these lines of commentary and for them to be used less.
You would think with all the space on these PS3 disks that they would have room for more lines.
What about when you play against Cleveland and when you hit a ground ball past Jhonny Peralta the announcers says "Jhonny comes up late" or something?
I get that too. I just ignore it.
He does the same thing with Chipper Jones. "Aww Chipper, Chipper, Chipper". Makes me just wanna shout "**** YOU. I wanted to take that pitch!!!!!!!!!!!"Comment

I think the game needs more Rex Hudler. Seriously. This is a damn video game, there's no need for 3 super serious commentators.Comment

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
Next year they need to get Keith Hernandez so he can talk about Cigars, where he's going for dinner or some other irrelevant thing. He's the Phil Rizzuto of my generation. He's a complete whack job but I love him anyway. He's the only reason to keep watching a game when the mets are up or down by like 9 runs because you know at any moment he is going to let something fly that makes the other guys in the booth chuckle uncomfortably."We All Have Sizeable Scars"

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
Thanks for being the first of 10004 people in this thread to point that out. I hate that too.
There's also, "OHHHH, ALBERT!! YOU SHOULD'VE KILLED THAT ONE!!!!"
Yeah...it's already been said like 10 times.
I know! I hate that too!And I hate when they say things that make no sense. Seriously! Does anyone actually read through a thread before replying? Look up a few posts, Snake.Comment

I really hate that one too, but not as much as:
"Uhhh.... what are you waiting for, amigo?"
THAT one is the one that gets me more than any other line in the game!Comment
