I completely agree that SCEA needs a MUCH MUCH BETTER QA process. This year's game should be an opener. It seems like they have top notched devs, but either their actual QA team sucks, or they don't have a proper QA process in place to test for and correct the major glaring issues.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team
CB doesn't need anyone to defend him, but I will say check his posts going back to NCAA Football 09, I would not classify him as an *** kisser. He does generally side with the producers of the game, nothing wrong with that, but when he does its not knee-jerk like some people. CB's responses are well thought out and fair.
If you want to rag on CB it should be for his obsession with the damn smilly facesComment

Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team
SCEA is family on these boards. It's one thing to criticize the game I've posted in the bugs/glitches myself, but, me personally and being a community leader for the game, when people take shots at them I'm going to respond. If that makes people butt kissers then I wear it proudly (I've been accused by those unhappy with the game). If you were a dev would you come on here and try to have conversations and get into peeing contests like so many people do? The devs do enough for us and keep us alerted. The first page of this thread shows that. I don't think we can ask for anymore.Comment

I played 2 franchise games last night to check it out and I saw a couple errors. 2 Mound visists to Halladay in same inning and they didn't replace him and the announcers screaming that Guillen just hit his 500th home run. Umm that would be Sheffield and he no longer plays in Detroit.
But other than that I would need to test the game alot more to find problems.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team
If you have not encountered this yet, try playing a game either against the CPU or against a friend playing you on the same playstation 3 & dive for the ball using the R2 & see what happens. Btw... don't just flick the R2 button but actually hold it down & you will see what I mean. Basically the bug is, that the R2 button is an undocumented throw to home button. (duplicating with no purpose the function of the X button to the detriment of being able to smoothly play a dive & then throwing the ball to the proper base afterward)Comment

Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team
Rudy, not true. You're sort of saying I'm lying about the game.
There are many objective posts on these boards, you make those Rudy. But people who imply we are being "strung along", that's not objective. You've been here long enough to know these guys have bent over backwards coming to this community to get our help and have put things in the game that we have requested.
If you can show me where I've been a fanboy and protected this games bugs/glitches, please do. You know Rudy, I have seen a couple bugs, that's it, since I've been playing. Do you think I, Mr. Roster Control, am happy with the lineup bug? No way, and I've said so.
There are as many people having no problems with the game, and as many people who can overlook some small bugs in video games because they ARE video games and that's not to say the big bugs need addressing.
In my response to SCEA I knocked their Q&A big time, even told them to put ME in charge (tongue in cheek), but I also realize they have cut off dates and have a higher power telling them when to release the game. Then they have these boards wanting everything in the game but the kitchen sink. They try to please, can't always pull it off.
Rudy, if you went to the community event and watched these people at work for three days I don't think you'd be saying I've lost my objectivity, but that's your opinion. The event wasn't a butt kissing expedition, but SCEA doesn't, and shouldn't come here to defend themselves from some of the over the top stuff that is said. The community leaders can do that, and NOT lose their objectivity.Last edited by jim416; 04-21-2009, 11:37 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team
Question... based on what you say, have you ever tried diving for a ball holding down the R2 button & after coming up with the ball, instead of being able to throw the ball to first base to throw out the runner, that the ball throws to home plate instead? If so, would you not consider that to be a gameplay bug?

Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team
It never has. We have thousands of objective posts, just look at the bugs/glitches threads. You'll even see my post in there (how could it be!!!!, lol), but there has been a lot of mud slung at the dev team that is over the top. My opinion.Comment

Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team
Wait a minute, I said I felt like being strung along. I admit that was a bit exaggerated but I did not say that the developers are just stringing us along and will never release a patch. All I wanted was a little bit more info other than the original post. Is that asking too much?Comment

Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team
A few years ago in the same month I was called and EA Lover /2K ***** and a 2K Lover/ EA *****.
Why? Because I was giving honest feedback about different games REGARDLESS of who made it. So when I was critical of EA I was a 2K Lover, then I make a comment regarding a 2K game and I was an EA Lover.
Some people can't grasp the idea that you can like/love a game and still point out flaws or hate a game and still point out the good things with it.
Bottom line for me is gripe and complain all you want about a game but do it like an adult instead of the "Lazy", "Don't Care" etc... stuff as that will get responses as most know exactly the amount of work these guys do at SCEA. Lastly once the complaint is made move on instead of rehashing the same ole time and time again. That doesn't benefit anyone.Joshua:
