Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team

We all have ideas as to what will be addressed in this patch, generally I think most beleive there will be some minor "tweaks". Is it possible the patch is taking some time because this will be a more extensive patch then we are expecting?

The history of SCEA has been to exceed our expectations. If this was EA Sports I wouldn't have much hope, but...

I'll either post in the roster vault or I'll post them here, when I get home tonight.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

If it is at all possible, can you either post both or just the roster vault? Seems like it would be that much easier for more people to have the ability to download it directly to the game.

If you can't, don't have time, or just plain don't want to then I will curse UL basketball for the next 50 years.

Well last night I finally set my internet connection for my PS3. I had no clue what I was missing but wow. I have been playing all this time without it and I log on and see the roster updates and everything already set up. You guys have put in a lot of hard work I see, incredible.

Now I want to start my season over and wait for the patch before I start my season.

I wonder when the patch will come out, it's been 3 weeks since this thread was started.

I agree this is ridiculous to wait this long. at least they could update us once a week, besides we are working on it !!

they could tell us what they are "working" on, and a guess at a release date. I dont see how asking that much is so difficult.

I also think they should release the game next year on opening day, instead of rushing the release and having a game you can't start a franchise with until May. I know Sony has a lot to do with that, but just a suggestion.

and thanks to all the people who help make the rosters !!

this won't make a difference in the long run. Say next year they release it on opening day...so they have 13 months right. For mlb 2011 do you want them to release a month into the season and keep the 13 month dev time?

It doesn't matter if they release it in march or april...they wills till have only 12 months of time.

I played 2 franchise games last night to check it out and I saw a couple errors. 2 Mound visists to Halladay in same inning and they didn't replace him and the announcers screaming that Guillen just hit his 500th home run. Umm that would be Sheffield and he no longer plays in Detroit.

But other than that I would need to test the game alot more to find problems.

I found game killers for 2k and Ncaa football within minutes.
You need to play the RTTS and see some of the issues like the fielding, base running, stats not being credited to the player, and the biggest when you make the majors the game crash's.

Are some ov you really not starting your franchise because of the histirical stat glitch? Is it that big of a deal? It's not like they make a big hub bub when you reach a milestone. Its just a quick recognition ( sometimes ). For example, I recently broke Joe Dimaggio's hit streak and not a word was said. I broke it with an RBI double in the fourth. They just commented on my hit. They only seem to recognize hit streaks and such when it's a single. I say start your franchise if you plan on playing all 162. I start usually as soon as possible but always fall short. Usually when the summer games come out. ( Ufc, ncaa, fight night, etc this year ). Also I know its too late but I wish they would patch in a better celebration when you win the world series. Skipped ahead to check it out and it is very lackluster to say the least. Not as rewarding as it should be. Technically you're "beating" the game. The celebration should be rewarding. I would love to sit back and watch a sick long celebration.

I agree the historical glitch isnt that big a deal, unless you are playing with Arod on your team I guess. my biggest thing is the line up switch. I understand it is just a game, but I do like to have the most realistic line ups. and since I will play with the Cubs I would like to see thier schedule reflect the correct number of day games.

no problem with the game really makes it unplayable, since I dont play online. I just dont understand how things that have been good in the past are screwed up this year ??

it is the best baseball game there is but there is always room for improvement. some people just like the little things fixed before they start a franchise. I will not wait until May, so hopefully it will be released soon.

stats are big if you play multiple seasons...sim...because it affects hall of fame and certain milestones. Each of us have something different that draws us to this game.

I am a baseball stat nut and it is imperative for me to have accurate stats. Makes it feel more real.

Last year there was too many sim stolen bases and everyone was in arms...but again they were "just stats."

so, the stats glitch, does it affect a TON of players or only a select few? i know aroid, but maybe that was on purpose
