    Reading your catcher's signals.

    Little help here, please...

I love pitching from the pitcher's cam. And it's awesome to look in and see/use the signals that the catcher makes as he calls the game. Sometimes I "shake him off"...but often times I actually like the rhythm of the game when I use the pitches that my backstop calls.

Now, that said, it's easy to understand what pitch he's calling for. Just watch for one, two, or more fingers. But...is he also calling for location? I haven't been able to figure those calls out. After he picks the pitch, he seems to make the same hand motions every time so I can't tell if he's giving me recommended location or not.

Anyone else read the catcher's signals and have any insight on this? What should I look for if he IS calling for location. Or...is that not something that's programmed into the game?

    A tricky question, eh?

I believe he taps the dirt with his glove for down, after he shows you the pitch. Inside/outside he taps his leg. I haven't figured out high.

I've noticed a lot of sideways/lateral movement each time...that's hard to interpret. He seems to go to either side...so I don't know which he wants me to use. And I am not sure I've noticed the high/low thing at all...just the in/out.

You can turn it on so you can see an icon where he wants the pitch.

Thank you for the tip, but I'd rather leave icons off and play as close to realistically as possible. I don't like turning on strike zones, hot zones, etc...

I will hit select and scout out the hot zones, but I don't like using ball markers or the icon to see where he wants it.

I like using the catcher's signals, and am just curious if there's some kind of pattern to the hand movements he does after the pitch call so I know where he's asking that I throw it, generally. If not, certainly that's cool too...but he's doing some kind of movement and I am just not sure I understand it. If it's meaningless movements and just for show...it's certainly not going to ruin the game for me, but it's something I am trying to figure out.

Thanks for weighing in, for sure.

+1. I don't know the sign for high either, if there is one...
Also, I know you said you don't like to use icons, but if you're stumped, simply tap R2 and it'll show the location icon...
