Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??
Sorry guys, I realize now that I wasn't being real clear there.
I tried doing the save thing a few times with the patch and I still got the freeze. I tried 6 times total, some times I was able to get a game or two before the freeze - I was just warning that other guy that just because he was able to sim 1 game, he might still get the freeze.Comment

Ahh damn. I'll try this out too but I think it's gonna be pre-patching franchising for meSorry guys, I realize now that I wasn't being real clear there.

Well I deleted the patch and reloaded the game. My franchise isn't freezing up anymore. Knock on wood.NFL:Packers

Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??
I just discovered the really really crappy part of deleting your patch though.
Apparently your custom music is attached to the patch file, so now I have to go through and add any markers that I had previously added.
That is just a little frustrating.Comment

Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??
So your basically playing without the patch? I can stomach it if it allows me to continue in my franchise, although I will miss the ability to do uneven trades between myself and the CPU.Comment

Small price to pay considering. I'm in the same boat, but at least my franchise of 87 games isn't wasted.NFL:Packers

Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??
From what I've read, a lot of people.
---
My franchise with the Padres had to be deleted and re-created...
-Knights FMv1 roster (with all teams done)
-Played every Padres game on MLB schedule up until May 4th
I was able to pin-point what was causing the crash in my particular franchise:
Basically whenever I tried to move my 'cursor' on the schedule screen over May 5th (which was the next game on my schedule that hadn't been played yet vs Rockies)...the game would reboot to XMB (5-6 times, before I determined it wasn't going to change)
I was able to move the cursor around anywhere else except over that particular game(May 5th vs Rockies)...and from what I could tell was able to access all other parts of my franchise without error except trying to scroll over that game on the Padres schedule. (May 5th on all other teams worked fine...)
Also numerous box scores from previous games I had played were filled with many errors and incosistencies...wrong winning team, scores/hit totals/innings played...individual stats...everything seemed off except for player names. (possibly numbers from other MLB games or even Minors?)
Looking at the end of season statistics/standings...the Padres & Dodgers only played 161 games in the season...for some odd reason, the Rockies schedule listed them as playing against the D-Backs and the Dodgers schedule listed them as having played the Rockies, even though this game was not suppose to occur on May 5th...It was suppose to be Padres vs Rockies & Diamondbacks vs Dodgers...
I was able to play or sim the May 6th game(completely ignoring May 5th on padres schedule) and onward until the end of the season and into a fully-functional 2nd year of the franchise...but decided to just start over.
[edit:]
Basically these were suppose to be played...
Tuesday, May 5, 2009:
Rockies @ Padres 7:05pm
D-Backs @ Dodgers 7:10pm
Instead these were played...
Rockies vs D-Backs (?error? - according to Rockies schedule window)
D-Backs vs Dodgers (under D-Backs schedule- correct, but...)
Rockies vs Dodgers (?error? - accordining to Dodgers schedule)
Padres games on May 5th - None...the date which causes the crash when I 'scroll over' the day.
So basically instead of my May 5th game vs the Rockies happening...the Rockies/Dodgers/D-Backs had a mini-Round-Robin tourney without me and somehow screwed up the save file(?)
end of season games played:
Padres 161
Dodgers 161
Rockies 162
D-Backs 162NHL, NFL, MLB, NCAA Football Fan!

Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??
well im officialy starting over. by deleting the patch game file, i also deleted all custom music for every player. i figure if im gonna go back and redo all of these, i mite as well start a new franchise with all the fixes. if anyone knows for sure please answer: if i start a brand new post-patch franchise, with the previously saved rosters, will i have no problems with crashing and whatnot?Comment

Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??
I experienced this as well...
I've always thought the days advanced in a strange manner, which I'd guess have something to do with the problem. By having not played a single game yet in the franchise (a fresh-start save-file) the game didn't perform any 'sim to date' actions...which is why I think the file works fine. Basically I think it gets bugged by saving the game in transition between days/patch transitions, because the post-patch schedule seems to be recognizing the user team as a day later in the season than you actually are...hard to explain.
Nothing to do with auto-save or manual save either, because I had 3 save files at the same point, 1 auto, 2 manual...all broke.NHL, NFL, MLB, NCAA Football Fan!

I just realized that, in the old franchise that I have that seems to be working, It was saved halfway through a day, so to speak. Meaning, I had simmed my minor league games, and had started a game, but not finished it, and I exited back to the Franchise menu, and saved it again (all done pre-patch) then, today I downloaded the patch, loaded up the Franchise file, and IMEDIATELY saved it on a new file.
So far (knock on wood) it is working fine. I was able to sim past the date I'm on, multiple times....each time I exited and re-loaded. I'm currently playing the game, to see if that works as wellComment

Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??
I've noticed that after you play a game, it doesn't advance the schedule to the next day. But if you keep your cursor on that day and hit sim to date (after you play a game) it does advance to the next day.I experienced this as well...

I wonder if I play a game, and then hit sim to date right after, and then save and exit, if the patch would then load properly. (Not sure if this makes sense)
Oh well - I will try tomorrow, but if anyone wants to give it a go let me know how it goes. After all of that, I have to go to bed for work tomorrow...Comment

Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??
Mine is working Fine(knocks on wood).
Im at june 18th, so I REALLY dont want to have to start a new one. Anyway as soon as I downloaded the patch I Loaded my user settings like I always do, went into my franchise, and played my next game. Turned off system when I was done. Just loaded up my franchise to check again, and I was able to scroll through the schedule, and pressing R2 to view other teams schedule did not cause it to crash. Im usings Ridins V2(i think) rosters. Im at the point like most though, where if It all of the sudden doesnt work, Im calling it a day and trading this game in, cuz I dont want to have to work my way back to where I am since I like playing almost every game in my franchise.Comment

Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??
I was able to play the first game post patch no problem. On the next day on the schedule, the game would crash every time I tried to play it. It would, however let me select "sim to date"
I did this, and then, was able to click on every day after this, with no problemsComment
