Re: The bad commentary thread
Uh, yes.
There are a few things that make me scratch my head, but just as many that are really good. I once played a game where there was scoring every inning through the 6th, and the announcers stopped the game and commented on how the last time a team scored a run every inning was the 1999 Rockies. I thought that was very impressive.
But in what context is the commentary "bad"? What game are we comparing this to as "good"?Comment

Re: The bad commentary thread
I've never tried turning it off. It does get old....I just keep it on for some background noise, I really don't even listen to it. Although, it would be nice if they did a little something different next season.Comment

I'm thinking of keeping it like that the rest of the way.Comment

Re: The bad commentary thread
I'm actually really enjoying it. I have a surround sound system and I crank it up. Do you have any of the walkup music/relief pitcher stuff in your game. Yesterday the Giants brought in Howry and I heard ("GIVE EM THE HIGH HEAT, BABY!...from HH2k4), a clip I had put into the relief pitcher entry. Pretty neat. I also have some neat fog horns to add to the personality of ATT Park.

Re: The bad commentary thread
No, I don't have a mic to do the chants, but you can use any mp3 clip for the reliever entry music. I've even got some old organ music that sounds good when a relief pitcher comes in, plus more High Heat stuff ("New pitcher, please", etc.)Comment

Re: The bad commentary thread
The occasional blip and mixup with the sound files is hardly an issue. The Show's commentary is one of the best ever in a video game. People being "bored" with the same old fantastic commentary, is the same as cheating on their spouse when they're married to Jessica Alba. No sympathy from me, in other words.Last edited by baa7; 05-12-2009, 12:27 PM.Comment

Re: The bad commentary thread
I don't know if you can still hear planes flying over the Mets stadium, but when a few of the relief pitchers walk in there's a really neat plane flying overhead. Anything to add to the presentation. Yanks have those bleacher creatures, etc.
If they file is too big I'll post it on sendspace. CLips have been edited down so you don't have to worry about the editor thing in the game.Last edited by jim416; 05-12-2009, 11:37 AM.Comment

I agree, way overstated how "putrid" as one person put it, it all is. For the most part my commentary (and remember, certain things are keyed by gameplay) is good. But I just run into streaks of Hudler that, for me, is like....well, being married to Rex Hudler, lol.Comment

Moe, Here are bunch of clips I use. A bit too big to email. Just go to PLAYER EDITOR to put them in for each player.
