The only SS I have really looked at so far is Elvis Andrus from Texas, but I think I may have to give up too much for him b/c he is an A potential...

Look at Joaquin Arias (2b/ss), he is also on the Rangers

I havent made this trade yet because I really doubt it is realistic, but, being a big fan of Japanese baseball, I was looking into bringing Dice-K to the Mariners. I would be trading either Jack Wilson or Rafael Soriano (who I got for Jarrod Washburn), and then maybe Silva and a prospect, or two prospects. What does everybody think about this blockbuster?

I sent Dan Uggla and Nick Johnson to the Phillies for Chase Utley.

This trade was great for me because of several things. One, Utley's probably my favourite player, two, his defence is better than Uggla's, and three I've never particularly liked Nick Johnson.

Plus it was about fair for both teams so I'm happy really.

I'm the Cubs, and I finally decided to pull the trigger on my Jose Reyes trade. I'm in my second season, after winning the World Series in 7 games against the Yankees. I sent Bradely, and Yunel Escobar and a B rated prospect to the Mets for Reyes.

So far the trade has not been working out, Reyes in batting .198....

Delwyn Young, really good hitter. Good to very good defender but not excellent.

Akinori Iwamura is another good one.

Also Emilio Bonifacio can play there even though he's a third baseman. He's got great speed though.

wow, thanks for all the great suggestions guys... I have held off on the trade since it is pretty early in the season... I am also waiting to see who ends up on the block... hopefully this will make the trade seem more real... I will keep you guys posted...

for now, hanahan has been splitting time with wilson and has been doing a pretty good job at the plate.... its just those pesky defensive errors that are plaguing my SS position.

              One other thing...
what are you thoughts of the possibility of A-Rod returning to Seattle... hmmmm... could it happen? probably not.

I'd say given the Red Sox "issues" at SS the Jack Wilson + a prospect or 2 would be the most realistic... plus I am a little partial to trading away Wilson, b/c he is absolutely crap in my 'chise... If he was a dinosaur, he would be an Errorsaurus Rex!!!

Yes, this is true. However, if I don't Wilson I really don't have a SS. Callix Crabbe is still way to young and no where near ready. He is my only option, so I got Iwamura. Jack Wilson and an average prospect for Aki. He had played great so far. If you want a new SS, he fits in perfectly.

                    Hi Briand23.

Just want to know who is in your pen and who is your closer?
Have you made some trades to strengthen it?

I've just signed Duaner Sanchez to fill my SU spot.

                      @antilowpe

Right now its still just the original Mariner bullpen...
                      RP- Olson, bautista,kelley, lowe, etc...
SU- Shell (who is doing a great job so far)
                      CL- Aardsma.

I am just 2 games above .500 right now, so I am pretty sure that if I dont make a trade beore the deadline that I will sing Sanchez and possibly Turnbow for the FA list...
Sanchez has an awesome Change-Up and Turnbow's curveball is great for the 3rd strike... he just doesnt always have the best control over it.

If you can get Jose Veras and Masa Kobayashi, both are easy trades, then it is worth it. Big lift out of the pen.

                          What's wrong with this trade?

In my Blue Jays franchise I just traded Halladay to TB for Crawford and Garza. No probs there. Then I proceeded to trade John McDonald and Brandon League to the Orioles for Matt Wieters!!!! How does that happen???

In my Cubs franchise I am looking to trade Milton Bradley, As a Cub fan I really dislike him and don't want to use him, anyway I am looking to trade him straight up for Adam Dunn, think that's fair?

I hear you...but I think you would have to give them something extra.
Maybe a prospect going to the Nats....and you get one back...yours being slightly better than the one coming back.

In my O's franchise about 1 week before the All-Star break I trade George Sherrill (0-1 1.27 ERA 21 saves) to Detroit for Rick Porcello (6-4 3.53 ERA) straight up. I moved Chris Ray to closer, while I figure out what to do with the rest of my roation and bullpen.

That is the only real move that I've made besided moving peices around in the minors. It's taken me a while, but this will be the first time that I've made it to the all-star break in a baseball game. This is a testament to the greatness of this game IMO.
